Hi Christy!

I hope all is well. How's your little one? What's her weight now? I'm so glad she's progressing well. How were the holidays with her?

I'm at the end of my pregnancy now. My c-section is scheduled for 1/24/18. This pregnancy was very different from my first. It went by very fast, and I was running around with my toddler all throughout. I'm beyond exhausted, but knowing that I'll be up every 2 hours again each night is not exciting lol so I'm OK with waiting another 3 weeks. Plus my son still doesn't sleep well. It never ends.

We prepared the majority of the nursery and we're almost ready for her. I'm worried about how all of this will affect our son. He's a handful, but I don't want him to be jealous and upset for the new baby. It worries me. He's too young to communicate like a 4 year old, so I will have to read him through his actions. At the same time, if we waited he would be more aware of the change and he would probably act out worse or transition harder. I hope it works out.

Otherwise, my body has basically given up. I am completely swollen, varicose veins and spider veins, nose bleeds, hip pain, foot pain, leg pain. I am taking the iron supplements for anemia, but I still think its not enough. My body needs a break after this. I feel battered and bruised. lol

Wish me luck this last lap!

Hi scarlet!

She’s over 11 pounds now. The holidays were spent with kensi fighting RSV and my son having strep then immediately following with a sinus infection, we were on the verge of being sent to children’s for kens but thank god she didn’t end up having to be admitted. Otherwise the holidays were busy but good! How were yours?

You’re so close to the end! I’m sure your discomfort is at its max, it always is in the end. I’m sure Thomas will adjust okay, it’ll be a change of course and I’m sure there will be a few bumps in the road but hopefully nothing that lasts or is too hard to handle. My best advice is to involve him, I know my kids are older but we made sure that I personally still had time with them daily and we used them to help with the baby, you can’t do just that but maybe the 1 on 1 time with him daily will help him adjust to his new precious sister.

Have you had to do the rhogam shots with this pregnancy?
Lots of thoughts and prayers headed your way. If I don’t talk to you good luck and congratulations!

Hi Christy!

I'm so sorry to hear about the RSV!!! I know two other moms whose children had that this year. its turning into a big epidemic in New York! I don't know whats going on with it, but its scary!

Holidays went well - we hosted both Xmas eve and day, and it was a handful. I was nearly a vegetable by the end of the holidays and I'm so glad its over. Even with help from family, it was overwhelming.

In the meantime, my son had a stomach virus in December (which he gave to me), followed by a fever/cold this month (which he also gave to me). So much for being well rested in my last month of pregnancy! haha

I deliver in about a week by c-section. My body is at its max in terms of physical discomfort. I can't sleep anymore, I can only eat small meals, etc. But at the same time I am kinda scared of the surgery again, so I'm holding on as much as possible. The first c-section was very scary for me. I cried the first 15 minutes, and then was nauseated and sick the rest of the time. I'm scared again, even though I know what to expect this time. Is that normal?

I will try my best to get my son involved with his sister. He doesn't understand what is going on and is too young to communicate with me. I'm lucky he knows who I am, etc. I will do the best I can.

Yes, I took the rhogam shot in October. There is a good likelihood that this baby has a positive blood type, so I will probably need another shot after she is born. No big deal I guess. Honestly I hope she is positive blood because its much healthier for her own fertility.

In the meantime, I have yet to pack my hospital bag (whoops). Too busy. I have a pile of things sitting next to an empty luggage case, but nothing actually IN the luggage case. Yeah thats not good. Hopefully I'll get to it this week lol

I'll be checking around this week...wish me luck!
