First time clomid user

Postby TT19 » Wed Apr 29, 2015 10:23 am

This month was my first time using clomid. I started taking pills cd 5-9. My question is in regards to BBT and OPKs. My temp during Clomid was higher than usual and had a big temp drop on day 11 and also got a solid smiley face using clear blue OPK which was earlier than I expected. My temps in the past 2 days have had a small rise but are still low and under the cover line. I didn't see my usual temp spike after ovulation. I took another OPK this morning and it was negative. Is it possible I could have still ovulated with such low temps?
I need to get blood work done on 7dpo so I want to get it as close as possible if I ovulated. Please help!

Follow up: looks like 1st positive OPK was false. On day 14 and got a blinking smiley face. Has false positives ever happened to anyone else taking clomid??

I was getting positive OPK's starting from cd11 on. I quit testing around cd18 and decided to take another one a couple of days later just for fun and it was still positive.

I have read that testing too early can give you a false positive while taking clomid. You should wait at least 3 days after taking the last pill to test with an OPK. Clomid can cause an increase in LH while you are taking it, that's why its best to hold off testing 3 days after the last pill. Good luck and I hope the clomid works for you!!!

Thanks for the feed back! Looks like I O'd on day 16. Going for blood work on Saturday to check my levels. Hoping for something good this month.

Good luck! I'm on my first round of clomid too! I'm 4dpo now. Had a pre-o ultrasound that looked good, and then a temp spike with bad burning cramps so pretty sure i ovulated. How did your blood work go? How many dpo are you now?

I'm 9dpo today. My progesterone level was 26.52 on 7dpo. Not sure what it means since the dr had not signed off and they could not tell me anything else.

I just read this from babymed.com "After ovulation, progesterone levels should be greater than 10 to 12 ng/ml to have a better chance of a good pregnancy outcome." See more at: http://www.babymed.com/fertility-tests/ ... H9nWj.dpuf
So it sounds like your levels are great!

Dr still hasn't looked at my results and now have to wait another day. I have been having twinges for the past 3 days so I'm trying to stay positive that good news is coming.

Update- my Dr said my progesterone level was very high and she was pleased with the results. Took a test on DPO 12 and got a BFN. Now 14dpo still no sign of AF. Bbs are really sore today and had some mild cramping. Trying another test tomorrow.
