Clomid Question

Postby SeattleGirl » Sat May 02, 2015 5:48 am

Hey everyone!

I don't ovulate on my own. I took Clomid day 5-9 while my DH was home on leave for Christmas. The Clomid worked and I saw the OPKs get darker and darker. I ovulated on CD 14 or 15. The very next day my nipples felt like they were absolutely on fire. My boobs got enormous over night and I started having copious amounts of white discharge. I got excited. I took a HPT when it came time to, and I thought I saw a very very faint line. The faint lines continued for about 3 days, never getting any darker, and then completely disappeared. I had an extremely painful period 3 days late.

Fast forward to March 20, I began taking Clomid again, this time taking it on days 3-7. I haven't had the same experience as I did with Clomid on days 5-9, although they say you should still O on or around cd 14. It is currently CD 15 and I haven't had a positive OPK and I haven't felt the same pulling sensations I did the first round. Has anyone experienced a change in ovulation date after changing up their Clomid/cycle days? Is it possible I won't ovulate on 3-7, whereas I did on 5-9?

Thanks!

Hi! Im somewhat new to this site but I finished my 3rd round of Clomid this month and now in the dreaded 2WW. The first month I was on Clomid I took for days 3-7 and got a positive ovulation test on CD 14. Second month I took Clomid the same 3-7 days and never got a positive ovulation test. I'm not sure if I missed the surge by only testing once a day or if I just didn't ovulate that month. This month I took it days 4-8 (I started a day late by accident) and received a positive ovulation test on CD15.
Prior to Clomid I would go 80+ days between periods so it's definitely making me ovulate sooner but not sure I did at all the second month. I take progesterone after Clomid to bring on my period if I don't ovulate. I would keep testing because it may take a few extra days, they say you should ovulate within 10 days after your last pill so I'd give yourself until then. Hope that help somewhat and good luck!

Thank you! I'll definitely give it time, but I think next month I'll stick to 5-9. Thanks for your experience. I appreciate the reply!

I finished up my second round of clomid this month. The first month I took it cd5-9 due to seeing my doc later in my cycle. I normally have 26-27 day cycles. I started using OPKs around cd11 and tested once a day until cd20 and never got a positive. I may have o'd late. My period was 6 days late. This cycle I took it cd3-7 and starting using OPKs on cd10 and got a positive cd11-cd17 when I stopped testing. lol. I waited a couple of days and tested again on cd19 and still got a positive. Decided to test again on cd21 and finally got a negative. It so whacky!! I am due for AF tomorrow. My period tracker extended my cycle to 28 days after my last one.

Wow, Jamie! That would make me go crazy. I had positives on CD 16 and 17 in AM and then I ran out of OPKs. I ordered more for next time, but probably skipping next month since DH has to go away for training. Boo. Did you get AF?

Yea it was crazy!! I did get AF right on schedule. This month I started opks on cd 10 and got a positive all the way until cd14. I ran out of tests so I couldn't use one this morning. I am cramping a lot on my left side so I'm guessing I'm ovulating today. I plan to go grab more and a different brand and see what I come up with!

Hi Ladies,

So, I just finished taking Clomid cd3-7 (second round) and this will be my first time using OPKs. Hoping to get in the mail today.
Please explain what I am looking for..

Positive means fertile? or going to be fertile?

I wouldn't use an opk until you are at least cd10. The clomid can give false positives. If the test line is as dark or darker than the control line than it means you should ovulate in the next 24-36 hours. All of the tests are different so just check the time frame with the instructions. Keep testing until you get a positive than after you o you should get a negative opk.
