The appt has been made for fertility treatment options. Any first hand advice for an excited/apprehensive/ nervous gal?

Just a word to cheer you on. I have to say, I was terrified about my first appointment--I think I assumed it would be unrelenting bad news. But I found it really optimistic to know how many different treatments there are, and to be able to have a plan about something to do right away. Which wasn't even very scary: I ended up starting clomid to induce ovulation, and I had very little side effects and did indeed ovulate, at least. So anyway, just a word of encouragement, and I hope things go well!

Thank you :) I am a little nervous in the sense of not really knowing what to do right now but I am looking forward to the appt.

The best thing about making the appointment is coming up with a plan to help you get pregnant! there will be tests, and it can take time - but it feels so empowering to learn about and understand your body. My biggest piece of advice is simply to make sure you like your doctor and staff. You should feel like they are on your side and are working with you to achieve your goals at your pace. I had one RE that was horrible - she was fixated on something being an issue when it was not (she kept trying to get me to say I was anorexic, which I most definitely am not) and therefore I had no trust in her or her approach. I refused to move forward with any fertility treatments with her, went for acupuncture (which corrected one of the issues I had) and then selected another RE to go to. My second RE was awesome (and the nurse practitioner he worked with was too). His approach was just what we wanted to take. We are not with that BFP yet, but we have a treatment plan that we are comfortable with.
