wiil my egg travel to the opposite Fallopian tube

Postby Sophia83 » Thu Sep 08, 2016 1:35 pm

Hi ladies , hoping for some words of encouragement, positivity or just someone who has been in the same situation. My left Fallopian tube is completely blocked , so 2months ago I was prescribed clomid to help hopefully ovulate on both sides , so far I have ovulated on both sides one month and this month I have three mature follicles on my left ovary ( typical it's my bad side)
So my question is , have you ever know anyone to ovulate from one side and the opposite Fallopian tube take the egg ? The doctor tells me it's completely possible but I can't imagine my chances are good .

I have heard that too....but I think it's pretty rare. I have read success stories so it does happen but I don't know how often. I guess our fallopian tubes aren't attached and they have the ability to move around so who knows. I know there are a few success stories on this site!
I only have 1 tube since I lost it to an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year.
I'm taking letrazole and hoping to do an IUI when I O on the side with the tube.
I'm currently 7dpo from O on the missing side....it would be a super miracle if somehow I am pregnant!

Good luck to you . I assumed it would be pretty rare and tbh I don't even feel like trying this month because I know I will O on left side , it's so upsetting X

Hi sophia
Just to update. AF came early. So no magical miracle for me. Here's hoping both of our good tubes work this cycle!!!

I know this is a bit of an older post but it can happen 30% of the time. I lost my right tube due to an ectopic and the month we conceived my son I O'd on the right and it was picked up by my left tube. It absolutely can happen and does all the time. Likely for people without blocked or missing tubes it also happens but you would never know. It's not as rare as you would like to think :)
Good luck!

Well I'm 1/8 of ovulating on my side with a tube since it was removed last June. So disheartening....

I wish I knew how mine were, but I'm pretty sure my bad side is dominant too. Today is O day and I can feel a ton of pain on the right. Either that or I pulled a muscle, which is highly possible considering my joint laxity.

The only hope I have is my son came from my bad side and I felt it strongly that month too.

Orange was your 1/8 on meds too? Can they do anything else to boost your good side?

Hey B
That is the hope...we added menopur this cycle and I'm getting pre ovulation acupuncture only on the left side of my body and so far nothing. Both sides have follicles but the right always takes the lead. Last 8 cycles have been medicated.
Being out on CD 10 and still having a whole long time till next cycle is wearing on me.
RE wants us to look at IVF which cannot be done in our city....still on the fence about that but this tube issue is making me think. DH and I can't get time off from work but both get laid off in the summer so we have time to keep trying to get the left to take the lead till we could even consider an ivf cycle.

Ugh, I'm. Sorry orange. That's super frustrating. I hope things turn around for you soon. You deserve a break for once.
