About to start my Clomid

Thu May 10, 2018 10:56 am

I took birth control to induce a cycle . AF is really light and I think it was only going to last the one day. But I’m confident that it was AF and not spotting. It was several days after ending bcp and felt like a period. I will be doing 50 mg of Clomid CD 3-7. I’m very nervous and pray that this works . I git pregnant my first round of Clomid 6 yrs ago but I had an IUI that time. This time will be timed intercourse. What do you all think??... and also I think I’m going to go buy some fenugreek.

Hey ladies, I'm going to be starting letrozole (Femara) this coming cycle (in about a week). I haven't tried clomid, but since they do similar things, mind if I jump on the wagon here?

We've been TTC #2 since November 2016. I have had two confirmed losses and several cycles that looked like chemicals. I'm excited and terrified to start something new and it's causing me all kinds of anxiety!

I do ovulate, but it's looking pretty weak. My progesterone 7 days after my positive opk was only 6.8. :/ I'm hoping the letrozole does the trick and helps give me a good strong O!

Oh i hope it works. My first round on clomid hasnt worked at all. Progesterone levels were still less that 1 :( doing a 28 day blood and then hopefully up to 100mg of clomid or change the the drug altogether

Hey Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining also! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 months for our first child. After taking a million tests all came out positive, and OPK says I've been ovulating, but my doctor had prescribed me 50mg of Clomid since my average cycle is 36 days. I would love to know your experiences and how everything has been going with you ladies!

I'm on letrozole, but my body responded well. My progesterone was so low (6.7 I think?) on my natural cycles that my doctor didn't think I O'd (I did-- it was just weak). With letrozole it was 17.8. I'm approaching O on cycle 3 now. Not gonna lie, the last two cycles were a pretty big let down, but my doctor told me it's too early to lose hope!

Hi well my clomid journey has not been the easiest.
Cycle 1 50mg no ovulation at all. Progesterone less than 1. Side effects were sickness, mood swings and hot flushes

Cycle 2 100mg. Had a cd 12 scan showed no mature follicles. Told it hadnt worked again. So upset. Still had to have cd 21 blood taken. I was extremely crampy from cd 11- cd 14. Couldn't understand why the scan showed nothing. Anyway cd 21 showed i had ovulated good and proper. Progesterone 33!!!! Side effects same as last month plus cramping alot.

Cycle 3. 100mg. No ovualtion at cd 21. Going for cd28 bloods tomorrow. I think i have ovulated late. Finding this month the hardest. I think i am 7 dpo.... waiting for bloods to confirm it. I have been very sick, terrible mood swings, super tired. New things this month are sore nipples and sore lower back. Af due next week. Its just a waiting game.

I have found clomid quite hard. What has helped me is being super open and honest with my DH.

It is different for everyone. I hope you get on well with it. Keep us posted.

X

Thank you ladies for responding it means a lot to me as no one I know has gone through what I’m going through. I have been nervous about the side effects, hopefully there mild. However, knowing myself I’ll probably have them pretty bad. Since my periods are so irregular I am ovulating just not until dpo21 to dpo25 and that’s only what I’ve seen through the opk. I’m hoping Clomid can regulate that for us so it’s jot a guessing game as much. I’m also still waiting for doctor to get back to me if she wants me to continue using opk or to go and get ultrasounds/ bloodwork to varify. I’ll keep you ladies updated as I’m going to start taking it in 3 days, which I am very nervous about. Hopefully, next updates you all have positive news!!

Gotcha just want to confirm, are you getting blood work to confirm pregnancy or to check your levels? My doctor hasn’t gotten back to me yet, so not sure on the process after I take the Clomid for 5 days.

Just to confirm ovulation. My day 21 bloods showed no ovuation. Each dr is different with how they handle clomid

VA, if you do have unpleasant side effects with clomid, you can ask for letrozole (Femara). Letrozole has few to no side effects and they have a similar success rate.

I usually O anywhere from CD 15 to 23, but usually on the later end. I was expecting really early O my first medicated cycle and I still didn't O until CD 18 which was really frustrating. Then my second cycle, it snuck up on me and I O'd CD 14. The letrozole also gave me a 14 day LP, so I had my first ever "perfect" 28 day cycle. I'm on CD 11 right now and have no impending signs of O yet this cycle. So just be aware it can so move around. But hopefully you won't be waiting until past CD 20 for O anymore!

Thank you ladies for sharing your experience! I was under the impression Clomid was going to have my O be regulated, so it's good to know that is not the case. The doctor finally got back to me she wants me to use OPK starting day 10 twice a day. Hopefully we all O this cycle and the tests are frer positive for us afterwards!
