Kirsten,
I would ask for clomid and see if they think it will work for you.....

That is low without medication but doesn't necessary mean anything if you see the other posts about high progestrone etc..but it might be a step in the right direction

clomid can increase prog. levels, but it may not. since you know its low, you may want to ask to get on prog. supplements in case you conceive. better to be prepared.

Hi, my name is Tracy. It is my first time Posting on this site. I just got my day 21 progesterone level back and it was a 53! The doctor did a urine test and BFN. I spotted this morning which means AF is on her way shortly. I will be starting my fourth cycle of clomid on cd3-7 this time, instead of 5-9, and will take 100 mg. Wish me luck. My DH and I have been TTC for a year and half.

Before clomid, my progesterone level was 8.3, two months ago it was 13.6, and the dr has scheduled another blood test this month. He said he wants to see 15 or better.

2 months ago I was on 50mg Clomid CD3-7 and my progesterone level on CD23 was only .08... so I obviously didnt ovulate at all.

Last month I was on 100mg Clomid CD3-7 and my progesterone level on CD23 was 12.5, indicating that I DID ovulate :) I was so surprised, after so many months of non-ovulating cycles.

It was also my first month on 100mg as well. This month I am back on 100mg CD3-7 and the ob/gyn also prescribed me progesterone suppositories as well.... so I hope it works this month again :)

Hi

I am not on Clomid yet...my Dr wants me to lose weight before trying it. Anyway my progesterone level at 8dpo was 7.7. My Dr said that meant that I O'd. Is 7.7 high enough to conceive? Should I ask for a progesterone supplement? What about the progesterone creams?

Thanks for your help!

HELP! NEED ADVICE.....

Hello Ladies!
I had progestrone bw done last Friday on cd23 to see if I o'd or not and what my number is. I was on Clomid for the first time last cycle (and finally got a +opk/peak cbfm for the first time) and this month my doc took me off to run bw and see if it kicked me into gear. Well....after much waiting and anticipation I got my number: 4.07. Hmmmm? I guess that's 'bordrerline' (so says the RN) and my doc lsaid that some docs may think this is an ok number without meds but she wants it a tad bit higher and now she wants me to go one more cycle au natural and do another bw on cd23,24 or 25. First of all...I thought I read anything <5 is bad or no O was detected, 5-10 was low and 10+ good w/o meds, 15+ excellent w/meds....So....
OK-Here's my question....
1- If I do what my doc says and go yet another month with low progesterone and not O.....I'll have no chance of getting a :bfp: .
2- If I cheat and use the Clomid I have on hand and maybe have a possibility of getting a :bfp: and NOT do my bw this month...and wait till next month to do bw.
3- Or, cheat with the Clomid and do bw and then 'ask for forgiveness' when my bw comes back excellent! :shh:

What would you guys do? I'm just don't want to 'waste' a month by doing what the doc says...but then again if I do what she says maybe there's another solution in the end? I dunno....
Someone...anyone...everyone...please let me know what you'd do in my place!!!
THANKS SOOOOO MUCH...

ahhh Jas that is a tough one...I think you should tell your DR you want clomid...you don't want to wait another cycle because you feel that you are not ovulating enough to acheieve pregnancy,,,,I "cheated" one month and took a pill more than I was to because the pharmacy made a mistake and gave me more and I didn't o right and it delayed it all..but ITS YOUR BODY and you have a right to demand the CLOMID...

I agree with Tamara, that is a tough call. I do think it would be a good idea to know what your your prog. level is w/o the clomid but I also understand about not wanting to waste a cycle either. My dr. wanted me to skip my next cycle without clomid, then I started to cry and she gave in and gave me another prescription. I have talked to some people though that have taken clomid and it brought their prog. down. The higher the dosage the lower the prog. level. I think it's called clomid resistent. I think in the end though I would want to try the clomid again if I was in your position.

Let us know what you decide!

Hey everyone...Just wanted to stop by and give you an update. I called my doc and left a message with my concerns. The RN called back and asked what I wanted to do. I told her I'd like to go back on the Clomid. She asked another doc since mine is out of the office all week and they agreed that was ok. :jump: So, since :af: just showed her face I will be starting back on the Clomid in the next couple days. We will still do the bw on cd23 though to see what my prog # is on the meds since we haven't done that yet. I feel a ton better! Thanks for your thoughts and advice! Here's to another month.... :|

Hi everyone! My Progesterone levels at 7 DPO were a whopping 28.9! Found out I was pregnant before I got these results. Shocked and amazed at how high my levels are considering I usually have levels under 5 on day 21. I was taking my 3rd round of Clomid this cycle and I am also on prometrium VAGINALLY. No side effects thank goodness! All I can say is this is this medicine works miracles! Baby DUST!!!!!
Me 32 (PCOS) & DH 32
DD born 1.03.07 (conceived on 3rd round of Clomid)
DS born 12.13.10 (conceived naturally)
Our Family of 4 is now complete :)

my third round of clomid (50mg days 3 to 8 ) my 7DPO prog was 56.9. Unfortunately, my corpus luteums (luteus? corpi luteam? who knows?) seem to disintigrate too fast so by 11DPO my prog was less than 5. Bummer.

lyn - has the dr put you on progesterone? I thought that was part of what progesterone would do -- is to help strengthen the corpus luteum for implantation and continued pg.
