Can you temp at a later time?

Postby AndiA108 » Sat Aug 27, 2016 8:38 am

I missed my temp today due to being woken up by a family member. Should I try and lay down for a few hours then temp again at a later time or not stress about it?

Usually it's not reliable unless it's around the same time before you move.

It probably won't make a huge difference if you skip it but you can always take it and record it anyways. If FF notices it's at a different time more than 30 mins it will create it as an open circle.

I found the calculators were way off for me, but they might work for some people.

Thanks ladies! I ended up not temping later and just missed that temp. I have a temp shift now but no cross hairs. So frustrating!

You might get them in a day or two if you keep up with the temps. Regardless it looks like you probably O'd OB cd 20. I think it's probably more confused be a use you didn't have a temp shift right after you + opk though.

I found FF could be so touchy when it comes to temps. I used to tweak mine just to see what would happen if I took out an opk or a temp changed and it can vary quite a bit.

thank you! I ended up taking out that higher temp on cd 21 and it gave me cross hairs. Should I trust it! lol I think I woke up to go pee at 4am then maybe had some water when I woke up so maybe that temp was off.

It's hard to know but if it's off I'd say only by a day maybe. Did you do more opks after the +? If those temps after the opks are right then I'd say it's probably fine. If those are possibly lower than they should be it could be earlier but I doubt it.

I never had a huge temp rise after O, so even with that one temp I'm not sure why it's not saying cd 20. I still think that's likely O date.

No, I stop taking the tests after I get a good true positive opk. Because my doc told me to stop testing after I get it because even if it's negative after it can take a few days to O. Like your body gears up to O, causing the surge, then doesn't for a few days. I think that's what happened to me.

Thanks for the advice! How are you doing?? Are you currently ttc?

Interesting. I thought it was 24 hours pretty much after the first test and even if later ones are still + it didn't matter. I used to get + opks for days and now its so short I missed the last one. I didn't know it could take multiple days for O to happen. That would fit your chart then.

I'm ok stressed a bit with work and stuff though but we aren't ttc this cycle. I really want to but I'm supposed to be in a friends wedding next year and I promised her I would be used end up with a use date a couple weeks before her wedding which would mean not enough time to recover.

So I'm just going to try and kill time this cycle and hope this month flies by. Hoping I won't have to take next cycle off either.

After how long it took us the first time I don't want to extend this any more than I have to lol.

How are you doing? You plan on testing?

Ohhh got you! Well that's nice of you!

I'm doing ok. I had a really depressing cycle last time. But this time I'm feeling much more positive. I saw an RE last month and had an HSG and since she told me to take coq10 I think that helped to mature my egg and why I ovulated later. Really praying I get my bean!
