ER- it is good to write out your feelings like that. And, I actually do think preparing ourselves for the possibility of being done is an ok thing. I'll try to explain... For the past few months i have really been trying to embrace every moment of dd early years and have made some changes. The biggest being changing jobs for a lower stress, mind you lower paying job so that I am home home a third day each week with her. That is 52 more days each year to be with her...almost 2 months! Plus I do have good benefits and really enjoy my new job. Immediately after my loss all I could think about was ttc again. Then as months went on I even asked DH if we should just enjoy our 1 H&H child and forget about the stress of ttc and concerns about another possible loss. Well, he is absolutely set on another child. Not that I don't want a 2nd...but there is a part of me that is really trying to cherish the everyday moments and I feel it might be "just in case". Maybe God is trying to prepare me for the inevitable? Until then, whenever that realization happens, I will keep ttc. We all will. Funny how you wish you were just a few years younger and here I am at 40 wishing I was just a few years younger like my sister who is unfortunately having no easier time with ttc a 2nd child! I am done rambling. I want to say though that you have had great faith in your journey from what I have read. I bet tomorrow or very soon after you post something quite opposite from today. We all have those days we want to throw in the towel. Lots of hugs to you! And baby dust of course!

8 children...that is wonderful! Not greedy at all. You having a ninth child doesnt prevent someone else from getting get pg with their first or second or so on, so I don't think that is being greedy at all. If that makes sense at all. Geesh I am wondering how I would handle a second with dh's work schedule and my lack of patience!

You are giving it your all with the supps. I on the other hand feel a bit lax as I am not doing much extra at all to help. I should O this weekend so here's hoping for a July baby. I was really hoping for a bfp last month. The baby boy we lost was due this past June.

HI everyone-

ER and LD I agree with alot of what you both are saying but for me it makes me sick to my stomach at the thought of me never being a mom, since I am in a bit of a different place then you both as I am TTC #1. I was married for 12 years to a man that did not want children and me (wrongly) thinking that I would eventually get pregant and "that would change his mind" then me making the decision WE needed help making that happen which ultimately lead to our divorce..... :( Long story short, he would have been fine, he was a product of a bad childhood and did not have "faith" in a family unit until he came into my family but unfortunately to much time had passed and resentment built up that could not be repaired. among other issues.... now at my age (43) and now remarried to the most AWESOME man in the world that wants children we are now trying anything and everything to make it happen. I just think and hope that god sent me this AWESOME man and in the end it will happen for me. He is having a semen analysis done on 11/7, so at least its a starting point for us. :D

On another note, I am now what I think is 7 DPO, though my chart says 3 DPO, my thermometer broke right after O and I had to switch mid cycle to a new one that never matched what the other one said EVER.... and another BIG PLUS is I actually think I am getting back to a more normal 28-29 day cycle now, my cycles have been a mess the last 3 months, so I am hopeful for good things to come. :D

Happy Monday everyone

Second chance- I agree there is a difference between ttc your very first vs second, last, etc. And I understand what you have gone through. I too was married to a man that decided he did not want to have children AFTER we were married. I had a couple conversations with him while I was back at home at my sisters wedding, telling him I thought I was pregnant. At the end of the trip I was able to tell him I got AF. I walked into the house after my 2 day drive and he was sitting at the kitchen table looking distraught. He was beside himself the whole week about the possibility of us getting pg. We finally called it quits right there. I wish you the best. There are lots of success stories in over 40 women!

Tiff- Enjoy your pregnancy and here's to hoping we join you soon!

ER - oh no! I never keep up with Facebook. I got frustrated with it when it got so popular and my friends list got out of hand with people I barely know! Anyway, with my slightly longer cycles we have caught up with each other. I am 3 dpo today. I purposely didn't order my wondfos until last night. Maybe should have just a cpl days sooner they could take 5-8 days from Amazon! I would love to wait it out with you! I had some strong cramping at "almost" 2 dpo that was not one sided to be ovulation pain (which I never feel anyway). Or can ovulation pain be like AF pains? Hmmmm.

Hi all ... I was catching up on posts and I agree with ER and Luv ... I need to come to grips with perhaps not having another child. It took my DH and I 6 years to have our DS and that was with ART. So TTC naturally could be less likely. In stating that though I am more kniowledgeable and am taking much better care of myself now than I ever did in the 6 years TTC before DS. I would like to say at the end of the day that we tried everything we could (not including IVF or DE) to have a sibling for my DS. My DH is satisfied with just having one ... it is me who REALLY wants to have another (being an only child that is what I always wanted). (Mind you my DH was happy having no kids beofre I forced him to see a RE now he couldn't imagine life without our DS.) Also I have been TTC since the day of our wedding so it's kind of hard to let it all go (after 9 years), I cannot imagine not temping, monitoring my cycle, OPK's, etc. I know it sounds weird but it is part of my daily routine now. Does that sound crazy?

I have been meaning to read the Fertile Soul book I bought but haven't got around to it ... but it talks about not forcing pregnancy instead allowing a pregnancy to happen. It also discusses coming to grips with not becoming pregnant.

AFM, I am CD11 and starting to BD ... I just hope I get a positive OPK this month and not like last month when I don't know when or if I O'd (no clear + OPK). But last night I tested and I got a semi-dark second line so that is encouraging.

Where is everyone else in their cycle?

5dpo and of course symptom analyzing like crazy! Everything can be explained away by something else ie: cramping caused by gas, backache and headaches very typical...the usual. However I did post this question on the pregnancy symptom board- I happened to notice when DH and I bd this am that my cm had the same odor as in both my pregnancies?! Sorry about tmi. Maybe it's been before and I just haven't noticed? If this is my sure sign that would be wonderful but good grief an icky one! Lol!

ER- that is great that you are relaxed this cycle! Nothing we can do but wait after all and chit chat!

Afm- 6 dpo and I think the cm thing may have been from being dehydrated after a night's sleep. (that's what I came up with online). Did not notice anything out of ordinary the rest of yesterday and today. I don't often check cp position but I have in the past few days. It has definitely gone higher and is softish. However I know this is not reliable either! Oh well, beats not keeping track at all. Boring! Glad I have a busy day and night out coming up. I am sure I will be online tomorrow versus cleaning or something! Bad girl!

Waiting to hear where everyone else is in their cycle... Here's to more bfps on the 40's thread this month!

And here I am vs. housework! There's always tomorrow morning before I go to work!

Shoot! Amazon came quick! Got my pee sticks yesterday. I was hoping that they would arrive while I am at work tomorrow so that i could make it until Tuesday (9 dpo) to test. Yeah right! Tested this am at 7 dpo and bfn of course. I tried a suggestion I read which is to mark the back of a pee stick and dip it water at the same time as POAS. Then you have two to compare and wont make up a line. I did actually twice pick out my test stick but I really don't think I saw anything! I suppose with 50 wondfos I will POAS 3 times a day!

Still same symptoms of backache, achy tummy off and on, but no headaches. Last night for a bit I had an overwhelming feeling that i am pg. Can't say that I feel that way today, but I recorded it just in case!

How's everyone else?

ER- bummer that amazon is picky about what they deliver to you. Nope! No line with plain water test...stark white. Apparently line eye has set in early though because like I mentioned I did mix them up twice and chose my pee stick both times. It took me forvever to choose however. I have tested twice more but I wasn't expecting anything with shorter holds and heck it is really early. I must say though, my crampiness is promising as I don't cramp except for right at AF time. There's always the possibility of a new tww symptom however! Glad you got a clear O this month! I did also receive a bbt which I will start next cycle.

I am getting a little worried again ... it is CD15 and although I haven't tested today I have only got faint lines when OPKing (just like last month). In past cycles I would have O'd on CD15 but I am assuming these new supplements are the issue. I have a follow up appt in Nov with my naturopath so I will ask her if she has experienced other patients go through similar cycles before a BFP arrives for her over 40 patients. I am torn because I want to just quit the supplements and get a positive OPK next month but this is my last hope (seeing a naturopath). One cycle without a positive OPK (when I have always had postive OPKs) I can say is a fluke but now this is the second cycle in a row. I'm kind of freaking out here.

Everything I am taking is suppose to help with egg quality, assist with ovulation, prevent miscarriage, help me sleep better and stress reduction.

This may sound stupid but if all was going normally I would have O'd today .... 3 years ago today I conceived my DS today via IUI. I was hoping/praying this was my month, that all the stars were aligned and I would be blessed a second time with a healthy baby who would bring even more joy to our amazing family. I've gotta go ... too upset ... I'll check in soon
