Supplement you must checkout!

Postby TTCnumber2at42 » Thu Nov 29, 2012 12:44 pm

I was just purchasing some OPKs on line and came across this product that includes many of supplements my Fertility Naturopath perscibed to me for egg quality, miscarriage prevention and implantaion. The major difference I see is that my Naturopath prescribed Ubiquinol in replace of CoEnzymeQ10 because she said after 35 the absorption rate of CoQ10 is not as effective as the Ubiquinol and Ubiquinol has 8x the absorption rate of CoQ10. I have underlined what was perscribed.

Here is an exert of what it contains:

OvaBoost was formulated by a team of medical experts to promote egg quality and ovarian function. OvaBoost contains:

Myo-inositol, folic acid and melatonin: When taken together, these three ingredients prove to be a powerful force for improving egg quality. Folic acid is recommended for all women who are trying-to-conceive to help reduce the risk of neural tube defects in babies. But, research appears to indicate that there is something extra special about the combination of folic acid and the two powerful antioxidants, myo-inositol and melatonin, for promoting egg quality. Myo-inositol is also helpful for women with PCOS, as it increases insulin sensitivity.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): This powerful antioxidant nutrient also participates in the cellular processes that produce energy. Once conception occurs, the amount of cell division that occurs to allow the egg to grown into an embryo and successfully implant into the wall of the uterus requires a tremendous amount of energy. CoQ10 works within the mitochondria (the energy powerhouse of the cell) of the egg cell to help ensure that energy production is optimal.

Alpha-lipoic acid, Vitamin E, and grapeseed extract: Each of these ingredients has powerful antioxidant activity to help safeguard your egg cells from free radical damage.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into that and do some research. Not sure if I want the melatonin.

Hi Jenni, I found this exert about Melatonin:

Melatonin is a hormone found naturally in the body. People use melatonin to adjust the body’s internal clock (like for treating insomnia, jet, lag) and also Alzheimer’s disease, ringing in the ears, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, migraine and other headaches, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bone loss (osteoporosis), a movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia (TD), epilepsy, and as an anti-aging agent.

It is also being used for Cancer treatments.

My Fertility Naturopath says that it is not only an antioxidant and sleep aid but it also promotes good egg health.

I am not justifying the use of Melatonin, just provideing some extra info.
