luteal phase

Postby Donnamr3211 » Sun Dec 23, 2012 11:30 am

Any tip on how to lengthen luteal phase?

Just had a chemical and I started spotting at 9dpo and was full bleeding by 11 DPO. Turned 42 this last November.

I think b vitamins, particularly vitamin B6 might help.

Progesterone supplments ... next time you are at your OBGYN tell her/him the length of your LP and ask for progesterone supplements ... the normal luteal phase is between 10 to 16 days (according to fertility friend: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Sho ... phase.html) if your LP is shorter you can not sustain a pregnancy due to your lioning not being thick enough. I don't want to scare you but it is worth investigating and it is NOT uncommon.

Hi ladies,
I ovulate on day 11 and I feel like that may be the reason I haven't been successful. However my hubby keeps reminding me that 6/2011, 7/2012 ( both miscarriages) were a sign that I do get preg...---any thoughts? Chart day 11 too early??

If you have a short LP,then your corpus luteal cyst that produces progesterone could be collapsing (dissolving) to soon and the drop in P4 is what triggers lining to shed even if you are in the middle of healthy implantation. Talk to your dr about progesterone testing and your short LP. There are Progesterone supps/ shots that can prevent this and make your LP longer.

FWIW I conceived DS at 39 with a 9-day luteal phase, and have a BFP this week and I just turned 44, also about a 9-day luteal. Controlling thyroid and vitamins got my cycle from 21 to 23.
