41 trying to conceive #1 after miscarriage

Postby pixi1971 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 6:06 pm

Hello Ladies, My name is Julie and I am from Australia,

I have just turned 41 and am trying to conceive our first child. Here is a little background, I stopped taking birth control after getting married at the end of August 2012. I found out I was pregnant in November after 2 months of trying using OPK. I miscarried at just over 5 weeks 9/12/2012.

My husband and I decided to try again straight away - not wait for first AF as the MC came away naturally and over 3 dys and my HCG levels dropped to nothing over the three days and the ultra sound showed everything was clear. Advice from Doctor was to try as soon as I got my first AF but said if I conceived between miscarriage and AF it would not be a problem

I am so very concerned I won't ever get pregnant again. I used the OPK 10 dys after my first day of MC and I am pretty sure I got a positive Day 13- 21/12/2012. It was not quite as dark but very very close and got lighter as the days followed this.

I am approximately 10dpo after the postive OPK and I am not sure if I am getting real symptoms or am just wishing. For the last 2 days I have had some mild cramping, lower back pain and some nausea (very little on and off). I have been very tired.

Do you think I could conceive so quickly after miscarriage?

I guess my question for you all is do you think I will have any issues conceiving again?

Are than any other ladies who have had similar experiences to go on and conceive quickly.

I would appreciate any feedback you have :)

Hi Pixi! I think it is possible to get pregnant after m/c as long as you Oed. Do you track any of your other signs like CM? Also, there is a forum here were you can post your symptoms and people vote if they think you pregnant. You should be able to start testing in a few days if you are 10dpo. Hope you get you :bfp:! !!!!

09/12 - BFP
11/12 - MC at 12 weeks - blighted ovum

Thank you mmm3v.
Honestly I have never really looked at my CM. I would not even know to look for really lol. I have taken a HPT over the last 2 dys and both are negative at the moment

I conceived at age 39 five months after m/c. But I've heard of other people going right into the next pregnancy.

Don't worry, the blighted ovum can be considered a positive sign-- just keep trying until you get a good egg. You've proven you can conceive and that's good!
