Adenomyosis and fertility

Postby TTCnumber2at42 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:39 pm

Not sure if anyone can help me with this but I was looking over my sonohysterogram and it said I have adenomyosis,
Adenomyosis is uterine thickening that occurs when endometrial tissue, which normally lines the uterus, moves into the outer muscular walls of the uterus. Has anyone heard of this effecting fertility? The Internet is unclear (imagine that!)

I also have adenomyosis, a mild case, I believe. AF is regular and cramps are controlled if I time meds right. I also think my symptoms are better since I stopped using tampons all together, as I am convinced that they caused the problem in the first place (I was using them exclusively, day & night, during AF. stupid me). Anyway, OB-GYN said it shouldn't cause a problem with me conceiving, as long as I'm healthy and AF is regular. Hope that helps :)

Thank you Tplvrbaby for the insight! I haven't used tampons since a teenager, they always made me bloated and feel like my uterus was heavy and sore, it's hard to explain.
