Medical Studies on pregnancy over 40 and UF

Postby TTCnumber2at42 » Thu Apr 25, 2013 4:59 am

Hi all, I have a second chance at seeing a new RE! I am estastic beyond words. My first RE after numerous failed IUIs (we couldn't afford IVF) asked how old I was, when I said 42 he said oh well then said the next step for you is donor eggs or adoption (this was last September), I was devastated beyond belief. When I went to my family doctor to ask for a Clomid RX he didn't fell conformtable RXing due to side effects, he inquired about what my last RE said and he was mortified at the REs response, he said, this won't due we will get you a second opinion at a better more experienced clinic which he had a lot of success with (it is the same clinic he first wanted to send me to but I convinced him to send me to a clinic closer for convenience  ). BTW we still don't have a diagnosis just unexplained infertility (the worst) :x

So what I am looking for is links to any Medical studies for women over 40 and or unexplained infertility. Unlike my first RE I want to be armed with information when I see him/her. I want to provide all my info including all blood tests, sonohysterographs, food intolerance, Day 21 progecterone, all IUI step by step progress (meds, size of follicles, trigger dates, results, semen pre-post wash), BBT charts .... EVERYTHING. I also want to be prepared for the "maternal age" speech and I want a reason why we are are infertile not the unexplained infertility scapegoat.

So ANYTHING not matter how small of a study, could you like for me?

Did I mention that my career is as a contract specialist? I negotiate contracts in the healthcare industry for a living so I know how doctors think, they want repretable proof from collegues. That is what I want to give them.

I don't know how helpful it will be but I just read the book, The Impatient Womans Guide to Getting Pregnant on my kindle and it had a lot of references for us older moms :)

TTC- My FSH is high, I believe that is the reason I am not able to get pregnant at this time... here is a link for DHEA in women over 40 that may be of interest. http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/dhea.html
Me: 44 DH: 45
TTC #1 since June 2012
DH- Perfect
ME- DOR due to age

March 2013 started taking DHEA 25mg 3 times a day FSH is now 8.5... down from 17.8 from 3 months earlier. They want it well below 10.

June, 2013- AMH level .016 (low) they want it over 1.

June 2013- Antral Follicle Ct- 6 (low) they want it over 10.
