This is a continuation of a thread started long ago but there are so many of us that our new to this forum or have had success and moved on and then there is us still trying 3 years later! We never give up hope and you will find a wealth of knowledge, support, and friendship along the way! So please join our group and let's see those BFP's!

I will start out for anybody new looking!

My name is Tammy, I am going to be 42 y/o on Dec 30th. I have been trying for a child with my new husband for two years now after undergoing a tubal reversal. Unfortuntately I have been diagnosed with severe dimished ovarian reserve so we are going thru IVF using donor eggs. I have had one failed donor egg cycle, using 5 frozen donor eggs. just now switched RE's and have secured a new donor and we will be trying again later this month with a transfer hopefully around the second week of January! We have great faith in our new doctor and IVF lab and pray for a BFP this go round!

Introduce yourself and if you have any questions ask away as I have been done pretty much every TTC road there is!

Blessings to all!

Hi. I'm Erin. My df and I have been together for 3.5 years. Ntnp for the first year, then hard core ttc after that. We both have issues. He has low count and no motility. My bloods are normal, but I have a hydrosalpinx in my right tube and possible blockage in the left. We are starting ivf in December for January retrieval and transfer. For the first time, I feel like it may actually happen for us. I have hope and excitement and a little it of nerves about the ivf process.

Super excited to be hanging here with my 40's ladies!!!

Hi, I`m Anne. I am 48 and my DH and I have 4 children aged 25, 20, 7 and 3. We have been trying for another baby and I have had 2 mmc this year. We are trying to conceive naturally as we cannot afford ivf. I have been to the GP today and have been prescribed cyclogest suppositories (progesterone) and I`m hoping they will prevent another mc. I had used them with DS2, but they were prescribed because I kept spotting after a mmc.

I have been stalking this site for a while and have been following you Tammy and I really hope your next transfer is successful. I think you are really brave because all that medication and the side effects sound frightening.

Erin, I`m kmfx for you as well. I hope everyone gets their bfp`s and sticky beans soon.

I know a lot of people would think I am mad having a baby at my age, but I feel fit and healthy and still have the love for another child. It would be great being able to talk to you because none of my family or friends know and I will only tell them if I am pregnant beyond 12 weeks - I don`t feel that hopeful at the moment, but we will see what happens.

Sending you baby dust!

Hi! My name is Cyndi, I am 41 (almost 42!) years old and my dh and I have been trying to conceive child #2 for the last 8 years. We had to go through fertility treatments in order to conceive my DS (who was a twin, but we lost our girl during the pregnancy). We have periodically gone through fertility treatments (injectible IUIs), and I have been taking Clomid for most of the last 9 months (I can't this month or next-and probably another after that because I have developed a very large cyst on my right ovary). We can't afford IUIs at this time, so Clomid and timed intercourse is what we're doing. I OPK, though I don't know how reliable that is because I've been diagnosed with PCOS (reason for infertility). I also use the OvaCue fertility monitor, but I don't temp (I occasionally have insomnia) which I understand can throw off the charts. I don't know how much longer I want to try, but I have a supportive OB/GYN who doesn't believe I'm 'too old', so I guess I'll keep going until I feel like it's no longer worthwhile.
I am on CD12; opk hasn't identified my 'fertile period', but OvaCue has projected high fertility through the weekend. My periods have been 31-35 days (the last month was 31), so the OvaCue would likely line up with ovulation. I don't know if I will actually ovulate (that's why I take the Clomid), but I'm trying to be hopeful. There are periods where I feel like I should just stop putting myself through this ttc stuff, but I just don't feel like my family is complete. I do worry about the age difference there would be between my DS, who is currently 10, and another.
I've been lurking on here for quite a while, but saw this thread and felt like I could fit in here. Thank you for starting the thread!

Welcome Cyndi!! So sorry to hear about the cyst. It sounds like you have a great og/gyn. So many docs are not encouraging when we get to be our age.

Hi Cyndi. I don`t think 41 is too old. I conceived my DS Isaac when I was 45 and had a fantastic pregnancy and a home birth ( I HATE HOSPITAL). A friend of mine gave birth in June, and she has PCOS and conceived using clomid - she is about the same age as you.

I asked to be referred for fertility treatment after having my DD2 and got a very negative letter from the consultant saying that my chance of IVF succeeding at the of 44 was less than 3%. We decided to start with all the tests only to find that I fell pregnant that month. I think my ovaries must be flinging out eggs, because getting pregnant was never that easy when I was younger lol, unfortunately keeping hold of the baby has got harder.

Like you I have cycles that vary between 31-33 days with the odd 28 day cycle here and there. That is why I started using a secondhand fertility monitor I bought off ebay, and it has helped. I too get insomnia and that is why I have not been temping.

I`m glad you have a supportive doc as well and wish you luck this weekend.

Thanks, ladies, for the welcome!
This weekend was a bust. I had a bacterial infection diagnosed Saturday a week ago. I finished up the treatment on Wednesday and we dtd on Friday, but then hubby worked all weekend and was complaining last night that he felt 'raw' down there. Now he thinks that I gave him an infection. I think maybe it's just irritation from the medicine perhaps. Anyway, I'm calling my gyn because I don't think the infection is gone. It hurt like hell after we dtd!--i was irritated all over again. Hopefully, I can get in today or tomorrow, but I don't think this month will be a good month for ttc. I am so frustrated because I really feel the weight of time against me and I can never get this lost month back, kwim? I don't even feel like doing the opk's even though i haven't gotten a smiley face yet.
Anyway, need to get to class! I'll be checking in throughout the day!

Bummer Cyndi! I hope things turn put ok. I know what you mean about the lost time. I was frustrated over having to wait a month to start ivf because the lab was going to be closed over Christmas.

Hope eoe is well!! Baby dust,

Well, I got to the doctor and low-and-behold i've got a yeast infection now! Difulcan it is. He also did a scan to see where the cyst was at and the biggest one is still there. I go back on Feb. 8th for a scan--until then, no Clomid. Sigh...
Thanks for the positive thoughts, though!

Thanks, Sunshinetex! You made me laugh with your last comment!
I am feeling better, the Difulcan seems to have kicked in well. I actually got a 'high fertility' on my opk this morning, so hopefully, hubby will be up to dtd tonight and the next couple nights. Maybe by the time I have to go in for the scan, it will be for a more positive reason! I hate the emotional roller coaster, really I do--I don't even go on roller coaster rides at the amusement parks; maybe because my life is already crazy enough!
