TTC in our fabulous forties!

Barudera, that is AWESOME!!! Sending all my good thoughts for a nice, easy pregnancy! Good to see everyone, sorry I have been MIA, got sick last week (still sick but finally working) and baseball for my seven year old is ruling our lives! LOL
I did have my annual with a new Gyno and he heard I was trying to get pregnant and ran the day 3 test again with the results I expected
Even though I knew it would have been nice to have them be SEMI close to the range and not so far out as they were. We are still going to save for donor IVF, I figure I have a few more years since I am doing that route so not to stress about it now. Anyway, hoping to see more success stories like B, really gives me hope and I do need to find a good acupuncturist here, you have motivated me!!!
Love and baby dust to everyone!!

Congrats Barudera, always awesome to have a new pregnancy on here!
Hi Everyone, this first trimester is surely kicking my butt! But I am thrilled to be pregnant and I am by no means complaining, it's a little frightening at times, as I have had spotting off and on since week 6 and this past weekend backache and cramping, and terrible morning sickness, I have lost a total of 10lbs since transfer, but that's okay because baby is doing great! I have been released from my RE and now see a regular OB.
Had my first appt at my OB this morning and all is well! Baby measured perfectly on target for 10 weeks and heartbeat was good and baby was bopping around! Doc is not concerned with all my spotting because of all the meds I am on and it appears to be coming only from the vagina area, not uterus. My back pain and cramping is all normal as things grow and stretch, as long as I have no bright red bleeding and severe cramping, he told me not to worry! I go back in 3 weeks for all my blood work for chromosome testing and I will also have my NT scan that same week! I have been seeing a doc once a week forever so it will seem strange to have to wait 3 whole weeks! Yikes! Here's a little peak of our smudge ( who is not so smudgey any more)

Tammylynn, I am really happy that everything is going so well! I predict a girl because of all that morning sickness. Keep us in the loop, it is great to hear your news. I can't believe you are 10 weeks, it seems to have gone so quickly, only another 30 weeks and you will be holding your baby in your arms.
Pinkpuma, I am glad the spotting has stopped and you are progressing so well. I used a doppler at home when I was carrying Isaac, it gave me reassurance as well. I have'nt poas stick yet but I still have 4 days to go, oh dear.........

Tammylynn: That's great news, glad everything is progressing well. The first trimester is definitely the scariest but you're nearly out of that now. I have my 12 week/NT scan next week so that's the next hurdle!
Beelady: Love the name Isaac! Yes dopplers can be reassuring but they can also panic you. Last night it took me ages to find it (half an hour!) and I started getting a bit edgy but then it came into earshot briefly. OH says he's going to throw it out

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread but just incase....

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Congratulations Tammy! I still check in on this thread regularly but I have put ttc on hold for the summer because I need to take heavy duty painkillers and meds for nerve pain due to my work; I can't manage without the meds at the moment, and I don't want to take anything that could be harmful while ttc.
I am really happy that everything is going so well for you, has all the morning sickness gone? I thought you would be having a girl - my morning sickness was dreadful when I carried my daughters, but I didn't get it carrying my sons. Do you have any names for your new baby?

Thanks Beelady, morning sickness is still lingering but these last two weeks have been better! I am down 16lbs so far this pregnancy and only gained 2lbs back but baby is measuring great, usually 2 days ahead
Names so far are
Kendra or Mackenzie ( nickname Kennie after my father in law)
or Zoey ( DH's choice but my boss is named Zoe so it's weird for me)
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Hi to anyone else that may pop in!

Tammy- I still check in on the thread to follow my fellow 40-somethings. I am so glad your pregnancy is progressing well! I have often wondered about you.
EOE-hi! Hope all is well!
AFM: I gave birth to a healthy baby boy almost 11 weeks ago at age 41. Heading back to work soon and sad to leave my little guy. To all of you still trying, I encourage you to not give up. I endured several losses before I got my take home baby and I would do it all again.

Hello ladies my name is Jamie and Im 39 I'll be 40 in March. Ive been on this site years ago and stoped because we slowed down ttc dh felt he didn't need to take a sperm anaylis but now he do and is wanting to ttc. I just feel we waited entirely too long to go back ttc. As far as I know I was O'l on my own I have become pregnant 4x all ended in early m/c. I just feel like I wasted so many years not ttc that Im scared its too late.

Hi ladies. I have not been on here much, been hanging with the ivf ladies. Just wanted to say congrats to shuggysmom on your little ones birth.
Tammylynn, I am so excited to hear your pregnancy is going well. Yeah for a baby girl!

Sunshine-thank you! I feel so blessed! My husband wants to try again as he would like three children, but I am not sure. Definitely would like another baby, but I feel a little like I would be tempting fate. At any rate, I still need to heal from my csection. How are you? Where are you in IVF?
jamster-welcome! No point in regretting your past decisions. You did what was right for you at the time. Just look forward. There are lots of women who have babies in their 40s. Yes, it is harder and doesn't always work out but that is true for anyone. Good luck and keep us posted on your journey!
How are you other 40-somethings doing?
