44 & multiple chemical pgs

Postby chalkie » Thu Mar 10, 2016 5:20 pm

So i'm pretty sure I'm experiencing yet another chemical pregnancy, which takes me to 5 plus 1 MC @ 7wks in the last 12 months. Am I kidding myself to think I've got any viable eggs left?
I'm 44 and willing to keep going for a bit longer but the number of chemical pgs (assuming they are not taking because of chromosomal problems) makes me worried if one does take that it's going to be very high risk of having something wrong with it.
Not sure what advice I'm after, just need to put thoughts out there.
Thanks for reading.

Have you had cd3 blood work done to see where your fertility stands?

I wanted to reply because, like you, I had decided I was too old and the chances of carrying another baby to term were slim. I am almost 42 and currently 31 weeks pregnant. For about 18/20 months before this pregancy I had one mc at 7 weeks and then countless chemical pregancies. My RE said all my levels, ultrasounds, etc looked good. My husband's sperm had been checked before we conceived our son (naturally) in 2011. My RE suspected sperm and insisted on a DNA fragmentation analysis. His % of sperm with fragmented DNA was in the highest category, mostly as a result of his age my RE figured (hubby is 53). My RE said it was possible to conceive but it may never stick. It was up to us and how many chemicals we thought we could endure. We gave away our baby/maternity gear and the next month had another chemical. Hubby got a referral for a vasectomy and before he could even see the dr we were pregnant again. Only this time, my levels continued to rise and all was well. I was shocked (still am). We really didn't do anything differently, I truly think it was luck of the draw. The only thing I changed was adding soy to my diet. When we conceived my son I was a vegan and eating a fair bit of soy. I stopped eating soy altogether after that but added it to my diet right before my BFP. Not sure how much of a coincidence that was. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Hoping the best for you to have that baby. You're not too old if you are inspired to have that baby. We don't inspire ourselves...that comes from above.
