Postby megttcnumber2 » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:22 pm

She said if I get periods I'm ovulating. My last cycle was 42 days I think. This ones even longer. I'm frustrated with this.I just can't believe she won't even look into things for me. What should I do?[/list]

Have you expressed your concerns to your doctor? That's one place to start. I know it's hard to be assertive about what you want, especially if you're starkers in an exam room. But YOU are paying HER! She should listen to what you want!

And if you're not comfortable talking to her about it, then get a second opinion. See a different doctor, one who will listen to you!

That's what I was thinking about doing. I'm going to call tomorrow & tell them to figure out what's going on with me or ill find another doctor.

1. get a new Dr.

2. that's not true, you can have anovulatory cycles

3. Have you recently come off BC? Your cycles may take a while to regulate, however you can still get preg. with long irregular cycles.

Hope everything works out for you!

Since you just came off the pill, I have a feeling that most doctors won't do much yet. They seem to want to wait to see if your body can figure it out first. It took me 6 months after coming off the pill the first time to even get a period! (Wasn't ttc then so didn't really mind it.) But, I did take chaste tree extract (vitex) and it really helped my periods to come back and become regular. It may be worth a try, or at least looking into. There should be information under the "Trying to Conceive Naturally" Section, which is under "TTC Situations" on the main Boards page. The ladies there might also have additional suggestions for you.

Also, please don't take the above to mean you should not be assertive at the doc's. She should take you seriously and listen to your concerns. Even if she truly thinks the best option is "waiting it out" a bit longer, she should still be acknowledging your feelings and concerns as legitimate. Good luck!
I'm pregnant! Positive test Memorial Day at 10 DPO!
