CD57 and Blood Test Results...Feeling Really Frustrated!!!

Postby bella205 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 9:50 am

Just got blood test results back and found out that I am not ovulating and I have elevated levels of prolactin of 33 and testosterone of 62. My FSH is 6, which means it's trying to get me to O...but it's just not happening! Everything else came back good.

I feel really frustrated bc ff, p-tracker and even my body has given me all the signs that O is coming or did come (CM, temps, etc.) I am on CD 57. Anybody been through this that could offer me some insight and advice???? I go to the endocrinologist next week....

Same boat CD92. Your chart I very irratic mine is beyond thst. It doesnt appear temps are steady enough to proove ovu did occur. Has your Dr diagnosed pcos? Or did she just refer you out. How irregular is your cycle.

She checked for PCOS and I'm clear. My last cycle was 95 days and before that about 40. Prior to that I've gotten about 7-9 periods a year on a regular basis. My body's been trying to ovulate the past few weeks but it just won't! What do you think will happen at the endocrinologist? More testing? How do they treat this??? :|

LH was 30, which is good. I've been blood tested up and down (FSH, LH, thyroid, etc), along with sonograms that showed nothing bad.

Bella my doctor diagnosed my PCOS because of almost the same blood results you have. A ratio of 3:1 for LH to FSH indicates PCOS. With your 30:6 and your symptoms you probably have PCOS. You dont always have cysts all of the time with PCOS. My LH to FSH ratio was 40:6.

Tomorrow I go to the Endocrinologist, so I will have a better idea then. Thanks for thinking of me! I gave up temping and feel so much better! So less stressed, plus I know I am not ovulating so there's no point.

Gonadotropins are LH and FSH btw.

Good luck hunnybunny!

I went to the RE today and will be having blood testing tomorrow to see if my levels are conclusive or have changed. She ruled out PCOS based on my history and tests. If I wasn't trying to conceive she would not even recommend any treatment or further testing. She made clear that the testosterone and prolactin were in my case two different cases and not related to eachother. So, it is either just something my body's going through and/or a non-cancerous growth on my pituitary gland. If it is either or any, I will take something to take my testosterone down and something to take my prolactin down so I can ovulate and conceive. She mentioned metformin and/or bromocriptine. Will know more by Monday of next week...so for now it's just waiting and wondering.
