2nd set of bloods normal still irregular any thoughts?

Postby hunnybunny23 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 4:15 am

my 2nd set of bloods on cd 2 came back normal levels. i am still not ovulating and having long cycles. my BMI is 34. i am combatting this with diet and exercise which is making me more healthier and im thanking myself for it. i just dont know what the problem could be if all my levels are normal :/
OH also has a low count it was 8 million and the norm is 20 i believe

Hey Hunnybunny,

I'm actually kind of in the same boat as you. I am also overweight (have now gotten my BMI down to 29 though). All of my blood work came back fine, but I still have irregular cycles. So I've been doing research into a lot of it and have come up with a lot of good information.

The one that stuck out the most for me was actually a progesterone deficiency/estrogen dominance in the first part of the cycle (possibly caused by being on depo provera for an extended period of time when younger). This may be true for you as well, given your high levels of estrogen.

As a note, I was told that if you have high levels of estrogen to avoid soy (and DEFINITELY don't take soy isoflavones, learned that the hard way...)

So to fix the imbalance, my acupuncurist actually told me to use progesterone cream throughout my entire cycle. I decided I didn't want to do this yet since I haven't found any scientific evidence for it (everything I've read says just to use it in the luteal phase) and I don't want to rub a cream on me every day...

BUT I did find a lot of scientific information talking about how vitex fixes this imbalance specifically. This is why vitex only seems to help certain cases of irregular cycles. For women with short cycles it will lengthen them and vice versa for those with long cycles.

I took it for the first time last cycle and ended up Oing soon after, and it seems like one other member had the same experience. But those could definitely be coincidences. Hopefully they weren't though!

So not sure if you have tried vitex or not, but I definitely suggest it! Currently I'm taking 800 mg a day every day. They say that it can take up to 3 months to start working and regulate everything, but I've seen a lot of women get results pretty quickly.

Good luck!!!

But I just thought I'd share my research with you! Good luck!

Ok, what brand of vitex are you taking? The last bottle I had was 400 mg, but I couldn't find anything more than 200mg at the store this time!

Yay for O pains!

Also good luck with the weightloss! I actually packed on a lot of my weight when I was on depo... That shot was the worst idea ever I swear.
