Babydust, glad to hear all is well with baby girl! I'm sorry to hear about your breast issues :( how scary! Did it just develop since becoming pregnant? That is so strange! I hope you get some answers soon.

I'm struggling with a little anxiety right now. I'm just so worried something is going to go wrong and i'm going to miscarry. Maybe from all the sad stories here on this site or from knowing my close friend had one as well. I know there is nothing I can do about it, if its going to happen, its going to happen. DH keeps telling me I need to stop worrying, but I can't help it! Did you ladies feel the same once you got your bfp?? I want to let myself get excited about being pregnant but its hard.

Yes I only got it about a few weeks ago.
To answer your question about fear of miscarriage: yes 100% I felt like you do. I was very scared in the beginning and didn't really start getting excited until around week 7 when they found baby's heartbeat. It's totally normal to be scared. I found that keeping busy helped so I started working on a puzzle after my bfp. I can say as the pregnancy progresses your anxiety will decrease.

Morning ladies!

Babydust mine does not look like that, maybe its just a type or rash or reaction from pregnancy?! Mine is mostly around my nipples they look like red pimples but they come and go, hopefully yours its just that, a reaction during pregnancy. Keep us posted on your results!

Kflores, i didnt really think i was ever going to miscarry i didnt have any symptoms to think that but i did feel alot better when i had my first ultrasound at 6 wks to confirm and then after the first heartbeat. Dont stress to much, its def normal to feel the way you do but you have to be positive!

The ultrasound experience was horrible. I don't know if its the pregnancy or intuition but I was so nervous and teary eyed the whole time. I really started to freak out when the tech at the end said she was going to bring in the doctor to examine me. I've had ultrasounds before and this has never happened. Luckily my husband works at this hospital so I was able to call him and tell him to come over.

The doctor looked at my breast and at the sonogram. The bad news is that he saw skin thickening on both breast (the right breast, which is more red had more skin thickening than the left). He is not able to say what's causing the skin thickening, but its not something normal. It could be caused my something simple like irritation to a detergent etc (I have not changed detergents or soaps), so something more serious like cancer. The good news is that he said that I have it on both breast and its symmetrical, which is more rare in cancer, but still possible. He said instead of faxing the results over, he's going to call my doctor to discuss the results with him. He said my doctor will likely give me an ointment (maybe something with a small amount of steroid) and wait 2 weeks and see if there are any changes to the skin thickening. If there aren't, then they'll prob do a mammogram to get more detailed information. He said If I wasn't pregnant they would do a mammogram now, but due to the small amount of radiation they'll prob prefer to see if I respond to the cream prior to doing the mammogram.

I am of course, extremely scared. I know baby can feel my emotions, so I'm trying really hard not to be distressed and pass that anxiety to my baby. I also know that I won't have a definitive answer for at least another 2-3 weeks, so I need to find a way to stay calm and positive, because that's way too long for a time to be freaking out. I was expecting to have fear and anxieties with baby's health and development, but I never imagined I would have to go through this scare of my own health.

oh babydust, I am so sorry!! I can't imagine how you feel right now. I don't know if you are religious or not, but know that I will be praying for you! For peace and calming during this time and for healing!! That is so scary and I hope everything turns out to be okay! How is DH handling everything? Is the baby impacted by any of this?

Thank you! The baby is fine, but I don't want to keep stressing because I know that's not good for the baby. DH is being amazing and supportive as usual. He's telling me all the right things. I think when I finally get to speak to my doctor I'm going to push to see a breast specialist and get a biopsy. I really don't want to do a mamogram- I don't want the baby exposed to radiation and the biopsy is a lot more conclusive than a mammogram.

Babydust sorry to hear this news! Its definitely going to be hard to think happy thoughts until you get the results back, but think about what the Dr said about its good its on both sides. Thats a pretty good sign. Ive had a breast biopsy before and they are not fun and hurt like a mother f***! But mine was more towards the nipple part so that could be why. Def ask for that first.

So glad your DH is so supportive you need that right now! Just think of that little girl growing and use her as your happy place until you get some results back!

Just got back from the breast specialist. He did an exam and another sonogram. He said the same thing that I heard yesterday, that there is skin thickening on both breast (worst on the right one). He explained that skin thickening means fluid in the breast. During the consultation he told me that he has seen cases of inflammatory breast cancer and said that this possibility for me is at the bottom of his list. In other words, he can't rule it out because I do show some symptoms of it, but he doubts that this is what it is. He mentioned that the fact that its bilateral makes him feel its not cancer. On the flip side, he said he doesn't really know what it is, as he hasn't seen cases similar to mine. So, the plan is he schedule an appointment for me with a dermatologist on Monday and then I have a follow up with him again next Friday. He said he'll re-examine me next Friday and if the symptoms haven't gotten any better, he'll do a biopsy. Of course I won't rest easy until after I get the biopsy results, but I def feel more relaxed after speaking to this doctor and knowing that he has a plan in place. Now, the trick is keeping my mind positive and busy for the next week.

Babydust, again there is the good and the bad. I would feel the same way, not being able to rest until i get some answers. But little girl should take your mind off of it till then, start a project, figure out more baby stuff to do, anything but thinking about your next appointments. Fingers crossed your derm appointment monday goes good and gets some answers!

babydust, glad to hear that the cancer is at the bottom of the doctors list! That would make me feel a lot better. I hope the next few appointments go well and you can get some more sound answers.

Hi Isis,
I'm doing pretty good. I'm really tired all the time and my boobs are killing me as of the last few days. Good signs as far as im concerned :) my first appointment with my OB is on Friday and im really hoping they let me schedule an U/S for the following week, which would be 6 weeks. How early did you ladies get an U/S?

I has early ultrasounds because of the spotting, but they didn't find the heartbeat until week 7.
I've been an emotional rollercoaster. I've seen several doctors including my obgyn, breast specialist and dermatologist. All say that it's likely not cancer, but can't rule that out and nobody has a clue what it might be. I'm getting a biopsy done this week and I'm so nervous for the procedure and especially waiting for the results. I just want this nightmare to be over!

Kflores all good signs to me too! My first U/S told me i was 6 wks along, and has been right on target with the Due date still. I didnt hear the heart beat till much later i think either 10 or 12 wks i believe.

Babydust, im sorry you have to go through all of this with your pregnancy, i cant image how much more stress this adds. But just be hopeful all Drs so far said they doubt its cancer, this biopsy will set it straight, and then you can enjoy your little one! Have you felt any kicks yet?!
