Doctor solutions for shortened luteal phase?

Postby handyannie » Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:05 pm

Hi everyone, newbie on this topic but looking for help before I start asking my OB/GYN questions during my upcoming annual.

Since getting off BC a little over 2 years ago, my periods were all out of whack. I would spot randomly then nothing then my period would come. This all seemed normal to me since I was on the medication for so long. It didn't dawn on me that it could possibly affect me TTC until I really started charting a couple of months ago.

So questions to all:

I will usually start to spot 6-9 DPO. Is this spotting considered the "start" of my period?

If that is the case, then I would def. be considered abnormal. Are there any solutions your doctors have recommended to lengthen the luteal phase?

The start of your period is when you have full red flow, not spotting. However, spotting so early in your luteal phase could mean a progesterone deficiency. It's worth a talk with your doctor, as this will highly affect implantation and therefor your chances of conceiving. Good luck!
