What's your shortest/longest/weirdest cycle?

Postby LemonJelly » Sun Sep 23, 2007 2:04 pm

I'm pretty sure I'm just starting my period after a 105 day cycle, my longest by 59 days. I think I ovulated though. I'd love to compare with other people - what's your longest (or shortest) and what's your average (mine, discounting 105 - was on average 38 days)

Hello

I'd say my most screwed up cycle, but then the list would be long. I have never had a normal cycle (28-31 days) I usually stop counting by days after the 3rd month with no AF. The ONLY time my cycle was normal was when I was on BCP, and I could time it almost to the hour. Have you gone to your Dr to see if you are ovulating. Even when I got my period I was not ovulating at all. I just started my first round of Femara and I have ovulated for the first time in a year. Good luck and :babydustb:

55 days was my last cycle and what a wait that was i think it was annovulatory due to the short luteal phase. it always used to be around 12-13 days and it was 10 this time. i came off bcp about 11 months ago and i think that had something to do with it. i had this before when i came off depo provera i had no periods then 1 messed up cycle about a year down the line of 60 days it was horrible.
as you can see in my chart my body was trying to ovulate but it couldnt sustain the right temp and kept falling back thats why i have the same pattern repeated. this cycle also mimics the same ovulation pattern.

bcp does mess up your cycles i had 6 cycles at 28 days 2 at 31 and 1 at 34 then 55 so i would say im defo irregular

Hiya! Irregular cycles are so frustrating. The longest cycle I had was the first cycle after stopping BCP, I was on BCP for about 10 years. I didn't get AF for about 5 months. Now I range from 41 days to 29 days. The only time I had a 29 day cycle when we were on a TTC break because I was in between jobs and I had no insurance at the time and didn't want to get BFP before starting a new job. So basically if I have all the time in the world to relax and exercise and not work, I will have normal cycles but that is not reality. As soon as I started working again, my cycles are getting longer. We are seeing a RE and it took forever to get through all the fertility testing because I was always waiting for the right time in my cycle to get certain tests done. Now we have a plan to start injectibles and I don't know when AF will come but I can't wait so that we can start the meds. I really need to start temping/charting again so I at least know when I ovulate because I haven't been having luck with OPK's. With irregular cycles it's hard to know when to start testing with OPK's, ya know? Best of luck ladies and I feel for you! Hope we all get a BFP soon.

i used to have like 28 days. some 12 + months b4, i had only periods every alternate month. Its like 56-60 days. Then twice i got on 28th day and it became like 40 days. It was always inconsistent. I went to gyn 2 months b4. She performed lof of tests. She told that i was not ovulating. Iwas totally upset. As she was leaving on her maternity leave, she gave some tests to do and told that she would put me on Clomid from October. But this month we tried and i have got a faint BFP at 10 DPO.
Keep up the hope gals. Everything will go good and wish u all get a :bfp:

Congrats Mgal! That's great. You give me hope. With long and irregular cycles, it drags out TTC forever. I feel like we've been trying forever and I feel like we'll continue to be trying for a lot longer. Even though we have a plan to start meds we are still waiting for a new cycle. lol

Goofy cycles

Postby Niecie » Fri Sep 28, 2007 9:02 pm

My shortest since starting TTC has been 12 days and my longest was 73. that's not the longest I've ever had just since i started ttc. I used to go 3 or 4 months w/o AF and then i'd have it for 2 1/2 weeks. definately had some messed up ones.

14 days is my shortest and 54 was the longest. The average not counting the really weird ones is currently 31. The worst part was the 14 day cycle was followed by the 54 day one. So I had my longest and shortest BACK to BACK.

I used to be a text book 28 days person. Then I had a miscarriage and everything went weird. For the most part I would have a "normal" cycle one month then a weird one the next. I was convinced that I was proably not ovulating from one ovary. They put me on clomid and still didn't help.

Since December I have been having cycles of 30-35 days in length. So not regular like I am used to but much better.

octobermom - hope things stay regular for you! I've never had short cycles but it must be awful to see the back of AF only for her to return when you don't expect her. Good Luck for this cycle!

Eveyone else - I've got a "waiting to O - anytime between now and December" thread over on "Madame Ovaries" if you want somewhere to vent while you wait it out...
