Vitamin Regimen for males?

Postby lreints » Mon Jun 27, 2011 10:29 am

When i was TTC number 1, I had found something online that told us what vitamins DH should be on to help his lil swimmers. I can't seem to find that anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations. We would like to do it again.

DH is currently taking a men's multivitamin from Whole Foods (all natural is really important!), 1,000 mg L-arginine, 500 mg L-carnitine, and 400 IU vitamin E. He's also taken maca root, royal jelly, bee pollen, and pycnogenol. All are good for sperm! He had a SA in March and everything was normal/high! He was even a smoker at the time.

Lindsey- I just found out about maca root today. Where can you get it and is it a pill? I read that it was good for both male and female fertility, do you take it too?

You can get it in pill or powder form. The powder taste is hard to cover so we used pills. I have taken it on/off, but not recently. If I remember correctly we started off with 500 mg for a month or two and then went up to 1,000 mg. I think it may have helped moved O up by about 1-2 days and definitely increased my libido!

I am currently taking it as well as DH. Hoping that this will do the trick ;)

Socialite - why are you not taking it anymore? I have heard great things from women who had difficulties getting pregnant and then ended up pregnant while using Maca. It helps regulate hormones, but isn't estrogenic like a lot of other supplements. I am taking 3,000 mg and so is DH. It's a super food and not an herb so you can't over do it per se.

GL to both of you!
