Soy

Postby Christel » Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:10 pm

It's been a while since there was a new soy topic, so I thought I'd start one. Anyone else tried soy or know someone who tried it? I finished day 5 of taking it today (160 mg). Clomid worked for me a couple of years ago, so I'm hoping this will work for me, too. I go to the gyno in November, and I want to get my cycle normal before he tries to put me on anything again.

Hey Christel! :) I just posted a reply to another Soy thread and then realised it hasnt been posted in since May :D So ill paste what I wrote there!

Hello! I have taken Tesco Soy Isoflavones for the first time this month. I took them on days 2 - 6, and took 4 tablets each night. I did have some mild headaches whilst I was taking them. Then in the week leading up to ovulation I felt really lethargic, but I dont know if that was the Soy. Ovulation arrived 2 days earlier than usual for me (I have regular cycles, but have been prescribed Clomid, but wanted a break from it, so tried the SI's instead). I ovulated, im pretty sure on CD13. I had a positive OPK on CD12, and woke to ovulation pain on CD13. I always get ovulation pains though, and they werent stronger than usual.

Only got to BD once this cycle as ov arrived early and we had guests Anyway, from 3DPO my boobs have been killing me! I have never had anything like this before in all of my 54 previous cycles! Really noticeably sore, definitely not all in my head. They are still sore now, and I am 11DPO. I would be convinced that I am pregnant, but Ive been having BFNs. Obviously I am praying that its just too early.

Could it just be a side effect of the SI's? Has anyone else had really sore boobs after ovulation on SI's - if so did you turn out pregnant or just a side effect of the SI's?

Any Soy experiences shared would be greatly appreciated, thanks ladies :)

I did 160 mg of SI (also 4 pills), and I ovulated on day 12. We BDed a few times within that range thank you to OPKs. They're still positive, though, and I'm on CD 15. I didn't have any major side effects, but my bbs hurt like mad as well. They never stopped from my last (really really short) AF. I read about SI on another site and decided to give it a try, especially since AF hasn't been regular since before my daughter was born. I'm so happy to say soy DID make me ovulate!! No huge ovualtion pains, but I did feel some. They were on one side one day and switched to the other side the next day. Oh, well, at least they were there, right?
