What should I be taking, please help.

Ok here is my back story. DH and I have been TTC for almost 2 years with no luck.
I have had all of my cd 3 labs done that came back fine. They want DH to do an SA but he being the manly man that he is  wont do it. It took 5 years to convince him to TTC for #4, so he is not going to make extraordinary efforts on the TTC thing. If it happens he is fine with it, if it doesn't he is fine with that too.
I seem to ovulate on my own every month, positive opks and charting. Doc put me on Clomid for one month to make me super-ovulate and in that time DH was supposed to get SA, he didn't, so therefore they will not let me do Clomid anymore until he does.
So was wondering what I might take to improve our chances naturally. I don't get a lot of EWCM, so am thinking I need something for that. Also my LP has continued to shorten in these past 2 years. It has gone from 14 days down to 11, is that too short? I think I need to lengthen that somewhat.
I just don't know where to start. Please give me suggestions on what to take. How much, when, etc.
Thanks for your input.

I don't know if these will be the magic formula but can't hurt right? I've heard of men taking zinc to bump up the sperm count and quality. And if your dh doesn't want to take it, just ask him to take a multivitamin everyday and tell him it's for his overall health :) As far as EWCM is concerned, Evening Primerose Oil is a good start. I've seen it not work for some people(some months it doesn't work for me, so I have to use preseed). But lots and lots of water will def do the trick. Hence the reason they tell you to drink lots of fluid when you're sick(helps to thin the mucous). And I've also heard about B6 to help lengthen the leutal phase. Mines is already 13-14 days long. I took it the month I was taking natural progesterone cream(I suspect I have low progesterone) and it made my lp 15 days long. Here is a list of what I'm taking this cycle:

Evening Primerose Oil 4,000mg per day(Bottle says to take 3,000mg)-Stop after O
B12 1000mcg-Entire cycle
B6 150mg -Will start after O. I heard it can make you O later
Folic Acid 800mcg- Entire cycle
Geritol Complete One pill- Entire Cycle
Baby Aspirin 81mg per day - Entire cycle
Vitex 1200mg per day- Entire cycle

Hope this helps....Good Luck!!

Thanks for the reply. Why do you suspect your progesterone is low? I've often wondered about that with myself because my post O temps are not really that high.My coverline in around 97.3 and post O they are always less than 97.8. I usually get a good jump but after around 5dpo they drop significantly and stay lower until they crash with AF.

Here is the list of supps that I have my dh take:
Vitamin E 400 iui, vitamin C 1000 mg, vitamin d 2000 mg, vitamin b complex, selenium 200 mg, L Arginine 1000mg, L carnitine 1000 mg, L glutamine 500 mg, Ginseng 1000 mg, Tribulus 2000 mg.

As far as ewcm, I take 3000 mgs of Evening Primrose oil. I take it AF-O and it gives me pretty good ewcm, I didnt have any before taking it. I havent tried L arginine but it is supposed to give women EWCM.

As far as your LP shortening, I would focus on improving your egg quality. That is what my doctor told me when i asked him about progesterone. He said he could give me some but it would be better to produce a better quality egg which will produce a better quality corpus luteum and that will give you a nice long healthy LP. There are lots of ways too improve egg quality, I have been drinking wheatgrass, but there are lots of other ways to improve your egg quality.

Corey here are some different supplements that would help egg quality.
Royal jelly, DHEA (but you would want to be tested before taking it to make sure it is needed), CoQ10, Wheatgrass, vitamin E/ selenium, Pycnogenol and Resveratrol (its derived from grapes), fish oil, myo-inositol, melatonin. Also plenty of quality protein, exercise to get your blood flowing, healthy diet. Lots of the supplements I listed have studies done showing positive results. I havent taken Pycnogenol and Resveratrol but I do eat red grapes everyday. Also any forum that caters to IVF will have alot of info about improving egg quality! I usually find info on ivf boards and then go and research like crazy on google. :) I dont take all the supps listed but i do take Coq10, wheatgrass, vitamin E and selenium. I recently switched to a low calorie vegetarian diet (I get lots of protein from other sources) and started exercise so I am hoping for some better eggs out of all this! If I think of anything else Ill let you know!

Also reducing your calories could improve egg quality! Here is a study! http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2 ... g-quality/

Interesting Maddy, thank you!

I suspect I have low progesterone because I have high prolactin which causes low porgesterone. And my AFs are always short and scanty. Lasting only about 2-3 days with a lot of spotting. I'm seeing an endocrinologist next week to verify.

I've heard Maca Root is supposed to work wonders. It is a root related to the radish and naturally regulates the hormones in your body and both men and women can take it. It's supposed to help decrease anxiety and depression, naturally increase energy, increase sperm count and sex drive, help with PMS and a ton of other things fertility related. I would google it and see what you think.

I've got DH on it and have seen a complete change in him. He isn't stressed out (he'd been having some issues at work) he seems more energetic and I've definitely seen an increase in his semen amount (tmi sorry!). I've got my mom on it also (it's great for menopause) and she loves it! She's been taking it for about a month now and she says he skin looks great and she has more energy.

I've done a lot of research and all of the things said already i've looked into. I didn't want to take everything so I started with what was listed in the fertility cure book.
I would try royal jelly with bee pollen which is also something to improve your eggs. It doesn't improve the DNA but it's suppose to improve the "shell" part of the egg therefore increasing quality. I am hopeful.
I have a short luteal phase with spotting before af and I have lengthened from 10 to 12 days but haven't gotten rid of spotting. That's my mission now.
Me (sharon): 37 the worst- high FSH
DH (marc): 39 lots of sperm but low volume

TTC #1 for 21 cycles
FSH 19.9, everything else fine
-doing acupuncture weekly since July 2011
-Taking powdered wheatgrass, 50mg B-6, a mega multi-vitamin and fish oil (along with some TCM herbs).
-Also cut back on caffeine, sugar, alcohol, and white flour. Pretty much my entire diet before I started this.

7/2011 Clomid and lots of bding- BFN
11/11/11 IUI with Clomid #1- BFN super sad.
11/29/11 IUI with Clomid #2- BFN not fair!
12/2011- natural cycle- BFN very frustrated and angry.
