How to use Vitex

Postby AmyLene » Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:37 am

I used it a few months ago, but I lost the info I had on it.
I'd really like to try it again as I've had no luck with Soy.

When in my cycle should I take it? Do I need to stop when AF comes? Or when I ovulate? And is it true you need to "Wean" yourself off it slow once you become pregnant, or can you just stop it?

Thanks for any info!

I took through ovulation as it provides progesterone support and mostly took through af. I took both times through week 13 of pregnancy when the placenta took over in providing progesterone then tapered off quickly.

I take it the entire cycle and only take a break during af which is for me just 4-5 days. I seem to be estrogen dominant with lower progesterone and a short luteal phase. It helped me to lengthen my luteal phase and I had a bfp within 2 months of taking it.
2012 diagnosed with endometriosis, surgery/lap, diagnosed with subseptate uterus 2017...TTC since almost 3 years before first BFP in 2015
