Thanks for the welcome, its such a huge relief to have people to talk to that understand what is going on in your world! Im crossing all my fingers for you all! As for me, hubs and I met with a new doctor today, or maybe I should say old doctor, this office diagnosed us 2 years ago but insurance didn't cover ivf and we put it on hold. Anyway we are covered now a tried a new office, and after 1 visit, meds were ordered, no tests done other than bloodwork day 19, and a pelvic exam and SA, and no one telling us anything... we get this ridiculous email that was transcribed from a recording the doc made during our visit confirming that he actually said to me "if you have any other questions Michael (hubs) will explain it to you in the car"... what the???!!! We went back to our original doc today (2 years ago diagnosis) and feel much better about it, but sadly will have to forgo my November and subsequently December cycle:-( So our official doc now wants to monitor my whole cycle (should start around the 18th) with bloodwork and ultrasounds, and wants to do a hysteroscopy, I had an hsg done 2 years ago but this sounds scarier... Has anyone had one of these done? So he wants hubs to see a urologist, and take fertilaid, he wants me to start with coq10 and vitamin D, and bring on the testing!! Sad to lose the cycles but happy to be in better hands! Here we go! Anyway how is everyone else doing? lol Im trying to catch up on all the posts and learn a little more about everyone!

Bellami: Believe it or not, being in the hands of a doctor that you can trust and talk to, is going to be more important in the process. Don't worry about losing the cycles, as long as it gives you the best chance. Your doc seems proactive, so that is awesome. Good luck with the new phase. Btw, do you have any prior diagnosis? Sorry if I missed it.

Bella your new doctor sounds exactly how a fertility specialist should act and proceed, your old sucks big time,my God!!the histeroscopy is a very easy procedure where they check ur uterus for polyps, fibroids, scaring, etc anything that could prevent implantation, most doctors will want you to have one before Ivf,I had one and bcs they didn’t find anything wrong i recovered the next day.Dont worry you got this!!!We are here for you!!
How are my ladies doing?!
Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:05 am
Nicky- we do, lol I'm trying to figure out how to do thing you guys have under your posts that show your diagnosis/where you are in the process but still haven't figured that out yet Lol! Oh newbiesss So we have severe male factor infertility, hubs had an undescended testicle when he was born, they repaired it around a year old but the doc thinks that what caused this. He has a very low count, but he does have a couple (literally) that are motile, add to that the nearly 10 years of trying and we can add my age to our issue as well... I'm 38, also had to have a tumor removed from an ovary a few years back so this doc thinks I may have DOR, he will be testing me for that as well. So he says ivf with icsi is our only shot, and is also recommending pgs, so we are looking in to that now too... don't think insurance covers that though sooo if we do that a loan may be needed, we are waiting on the office to call with our pricing after insurance, so we shall see!
Dana- lol he was such a jerk but is apparently a successful jerk so I was willing to let some stuff go... but like no Hubs will explain it in the car??! Tool! Did they use anesthesia when they did the hysteroscope? Lol I'm a chicken, I read about it and was like whaaaa?! But this doc said something else that sounds cool, he said they do a trial implantation to make sure it is all clear for the actual procedure.. this sounds like a good plan! But I hope the pain isn't too bad... maybe I can get a couple days off from work, that sounds kinda nice:-)
Tue Nov 14, 2017 6:36 am
Bella yes they used anesthesia,i was put under so I felt nothing:)) Im also a chicken:))give me all the drugs
) yep that is called a mock transfer, pretty awesome thing but I didn’t had one prior to my transfers but lots of doctors does them.
We also had Ivf with ICSI and we don’t have any male issues so don’t worry about that .
The recovery after the histeroscopy is pretty easy but hey time off work will be fun.

Hi Everyone, hope you are all doing well. They canceled the cycle because my uterine lining wasn't getting thick enough despite the estrogen medication. Said we will try again next month and have me do estrogen injections instead which I am scared about because those intramuscular injections are painful so hope it's bearable!

Dana- I totally intend to milk it... like jussstt a little! Lol! I mean he only has to do cupdates... seems fair that I get a day in bed bingewatching tv:-)

Hi Ladies, I need your help today. I started the Estrace on Friday and I have been taking it everyday, twice a day and then Wednesday I increase to 2 pills, twice a day, however, I am having some unpleasant side effects. I feel worse then when I was doing the stims. Not to give to much info, but it is making my vagina hurt. It literally feels like it is engorged and raw. I still have my period too which isn't helping matters. I also am having a hard time concentrating and feel crummy. For the ladies that have taken it, did you get any of these symptoms? If so, did they end up going away once your body gets used to them? I am hoping for some good news.
I too have lost track of you ladies for the past week but I will try to catch up! I am always sending you baby dust and thinking of all of you. <3

Bbe I haven’t used it so I cannot say what is normal and what is not,a you taking it vaginally?could it be an allergic reaction?
Definitely call your doctor and ask .
Tue Nov 21, 2017 6:49 am
danaa- I called them yesterday and they said that these symptoms are normal, they hope that the side effects will subside in a couple days once my body gets used to them. I hope so because I feel awful
Also, I am taking them orally.
Tue Nov 21, 2017 7:19 am
I was a bit moody than before while I was on Estrogen but nothing major, also I was taking them orally but im taking something different than you do that might be a reason.
Hugs bbe I know how difficult this is but is all so worth it in the end, believe me !!!
I’m here for all of you ladies who need help and support.

BB - I also had a hard time on estrace and like you found it more challenging than the stims. I was an emotional wreck, like raw nerves the whole time I was on it. I had some physical symptoms like tender breasts and a bit crampy, but I didn't feel sore in the vagina and I was taking it vaginally (after my period stopped). How long do you have to take it? I think I was on it for about 3 weeks. If your symptons get worse, I would call the doctor back. Hopefully this is the worst of it though and you can get off it soon. Remind me, are you taking estrace in preparation for a stim cycle or for a transfer? Good luck, I know it's hard and that you feel awful, but hang in there, there's an end in sight!

I hope everyone is doing well!! With Thanksgiving tomorrow and finally finishing my midterms for school I feel like I can breathe a little bit Lol! So my cycle started on 19th, hubs had his semen analysis on the 20th, and I had my day 3 bloods and ultrasound done! So I guess I will start with hubs first, they did an analysis and they are freezing it as well I case we need it. They said they got 4 files and about 20,000 sperm in each, they gave him a total count of 150,000, which in theory is horrible but his test 2 years ago was a total count of only 14,000, so maybe the fertilaid is helping!! Lol we took it as a good thing! She said 67 percent were motile, so we are taking that as a good sign too! I think... Lol I'm not sure I understand all of this... she said they have to send the sperm out for morphology but they are frozen! When he left to go give his sample, I told him to make good babies Lmao! As for me... I don't know how I didn't guess that the ultrasound would be transvaginal but lol I didnt... the nurse was like "ok undress from the waste down and no tampon, I will be back" my dumbfounded response "but I'm bleeding... like bad..." Lmao! She was like yes, day 3, we know.. Duh!! forehead slap moment lmao!! Anyway, she said she counted 6 follicles on one ovary, and 4 on the ovary that I had a tumor on, so a total of ten. She said that was in the normal range... is it?? I'm turning 39 on Sunday spook what's normal? I even tried Google, but every page gave a different answer *sigh* So I'm still waiting on bloodwork results, but my hysteroscopy is scheduled for Tuesday, and they are going to do it in office with me awake... eek! She said if they find anything then they will reschedule and do it at the surgical center under anasthesia... anyway that all I have for now!
How is everyone else??? Any updates?
And Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
