our fresh cycle we transferred 2 and both took ---unfortunately we lost them later on. after DS we tried again and put in 3 frozen and 1 took - turned chemical. last frozen we tried for 3 but only 2 thawed out - 1 took and ended in chemical. so i would definitely suggest putting in 2.

Oh honey, I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you are healing. Are you going to do any more cycles?

Thanks :) I have made peace with it now. We are actually starting a new fresh cycle this month. I am excited about the new possibilities from a fresh one. So, I am keeping my fingers crosses. We will probably out in 2 if we are lucky enough to harvest some nice eggs. :)

Let me know what you decided to do. But I think 2 is definitely the way to go.

I transferred, three, then two then FOUR this last time around!

I think most people and doctor's prefer to transfer two.

My RE had planned from the start to transfer 2. My DH was really freaked out at the possibility of twins since he already has 3 children from his first marriage. He wanted to only transfer 1, but the RE and I finally talked him into 2. On the day of transfer, DH had to work so I went alone. The RE told me only 3 embryos had made it and if we only transferred 2, the third was not good enough quality to freeze and would be wasted. So, guess what...I decided on my own to transfer all 3! DH about had a heart attack when I told him. We got a BFP! I ended up miscarrying, but there was only one. Of course, next time we'll probably end up with twins!!!

I transfered 2 on my 1st IVF ~ negative
transfered 2 on my 2nd IVF ~ negative
transfered 2 on my 3rd IVF ~ I am now 28 weeks pregnant with ONE baby.

So out of 6 embryos transfered we have one that took. I always think that if I only transfered one what if I would have transfered the wrong one...

2 days after the ER, I had a 4 cell and a 2 cell. Then when we went in for the transfer we had two 7 cells. But literally right before the actual ET, the original 2 cell turned to an 8!!! So who knows still to this day, which one took...

Good Luck! It is a tough decision. I do know a lot of women on here who have had twins. But I think you can ask your RE about the grade and the quality. They might be able to help you better. If you end up having a bunch of 8 cell, good, grade As, then maybe you should only do 1? Mine were both fair quality, but maybe that helps...

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I really would prefer to transfer two. My husband is actually in training for a new job and has been studying and taking tests and frankly, he is exhausted and stressed out!! I think that after he gets through everything, he will feel better. I sent him the statistics from our RE's office and they said 33% conceive twins. DH said those were good odds so maybe he will agree to two. If I end up with twins, I will be overjoyed. Whatever God gives me, I will happily take!

Lexi- Congratulations on your little one!!! How amazing! Good luck!

jlg- I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for a nice sticky BFP on your next one!!

mom2nicholas- Yay on a fresh cycle!! Good luck to you honey, I pray for you too!!!

Here's to our BFP's girls!!!

Your poll doesn't include what I did! On our RE's advice, we transferred 4 fresh embryos on day 3 and I am pregnant with twins! Best of luck!!!!

we transferred 2 on a fresh cycle, and both took. since you are ok with twins, i would say put 2...for a person who strongly doesn't want twins, i would only put one in.

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We transferred 2 embryos....I'm pregnant with one. My RE said based on my age he would only have transferred 2 anyways, even if I had wanted more, but I didn't. DH and I wouldn't have minded having twins so we went with the 2. GL!!
