Jen~ I voted 1-2 days rest. The nurse said "flat on your back for 48 hours, unless you are eating or have to pee," so that what I did. Don't know if that's why it worked or not, but I'm really glad I did it!! :D :babydustg:

I was told to chill for the rest of the day, but i run a daycare, so I couldn't just take it easy... I was told 3 days to not have sex, but sorry.... I had the itch 2 days later.... I cleaned the cars out that week end which was only 3 days later and shampooed my rugs.... I guess the whole taking it easy thing just flew out the window... I don't have thin lining, so I;m pretty sure that I'm the exception to the rule... Most women going through IVF or FET have lining issues... That is a whole different story... Mine is plush and doesn't let go... Even if it's not a viable pregnancy.... :(

with my DS, i did 3 days of bedrest, but it was not strict. i just tried to stay in bed or on the couch as much as i could. my dr said that no bedrest was needed. but all drs are different.

there are tons of reasons to do IVF that have nothing to do with a woman's lining. i never had lining problems and most IVFers i talk to on tww don't have lining issues.

Oh right... I didn't realise the whole bed rest or no bed rest thing was only due to the lining.

I was on strict bed rest both times -1st time bfp with 12 week mis. 2nd time BFP but betas never rose. Originally thought it was a chemical but then betas did rise and I did miscarry....I say follow what the dr says. each dr does things differently.

I didn't vote because I haven't done it yet but the nurse said that you can go back to work the same day! I was so surprised as everything I have read has said differently.
I am going to go on strict bedrest for 4-5 days and then off for 2 weeks total. I know it is going to be stressful and I will kick myself if I don't do bedrest and the embie doesn't take.
Just my thoughts!
Apr 1 - CD#1 = AF
Apr 3 - CD #3 = 26 antefollicles, started Gonal F 262.5 and Luveris
Apr 7 - CD #7 = 5 growing (size 8-10)
Apr 12 - CD#12 = 17 follies growing (size 16-11)
Apr 16 CD #16 = retrieval 14 eggs, 8 mature
Apr 19 CD #19 = transfer of 2 8 cell, grade 4 embroys, 4 ice babies put away
Apr 29 CD#29 = BFP on 2 different tests, beta drawn
Apr 30 CD #30 = beta 188 to be repeated in 2 days

Doglover - I was responding to irishsweetie who said that most IVFers have lining issues. I was saying that I haven't found that at all. I really think that bedrest has nothing to do with whether or not you have a thick lining.

I think she meant that the process of doing the IVF can thin the lining. Taking clomid is said to do that isn't it.

The whole bed rest thing seems to be a bit of a unknown quantity in the whole process. I don't suppose most docs really know for sure and just have their own ideas or protocol. I am sure if bed rest was a key thing then they would all know it by now and all be recommending it. But I thought it would be fun to do a poll and see if we could see any correlation at all between BFP and bed rest.

I wasn't being funny or anything. I really was wondering if that is why it is recommended. But I think it is more of a thing where the docs think taking it easy or even bed rest certainly can't hurt.

I haven't heard that either but know it is an issue with clomid. Not sure if the IVF drugs have the same effect or not.
