Rebcat wrote:My results came in and its most likely a BFN. My beta was 21 and the nurse said that its probably not going to work out for me. I have to do a repeat test on friday. Its just agony, I wish I just was told no rather than having to go through this twice in one week.

WHAATTT! Anything over 5 is pregnant, it's soo early still. That's not nice of the nurse to say that...she could of said, we wanna check friday to make sure there doubling...that was rude...you shouldn't have to be worrying like that....WTH!

I'm gonna pray for you, and things will be just fine.

Cindy- Thanks so much for the love and well wishes! Yay for 3 jumpies!!!

kellyeric- The clinic I go to orders standard from the same pharmacy, so I don't know about shopping around. Your RE should have any info. you need about getting your meds. As for those meds, I have done Menopur but not Leuprolide. I guess side effects depend on the person, but some I have had are headaches, bloating, excessive tiredness, etc. Of all of the meds I have injected in my belly (Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, Ovidrel) I think Menopur burns the most while going in. You are on half of the dose I was so it might not burn as much. Will you be doing an antagonist cycle?

Rebcat- WHAT?!?! Congrats on your BFP!!! Nurse, schmurse...what on earth is she talking about? As Cindy said anything over 5 is a BFP! All that matters at this point is doubling time. What dpo were you got that beta? I can't believe you have to wait until Friday to go back in; that is torture! Try not to fret. I know, easier said than done, but you are preggo as of now and I hope everything turns out well and you get an awesome beta on Friday!!!

rebcat: I feel for you. I was in the same position last December with a beta of 32at 17dpo. It was very stressfull and a lot of emotional ups and downs. Iti s hard to know what to feel right now. I never knew that you could be half pregnant until that day. There is a chance it works out and try to focus on that as much as possible and maybe get your beta moved up if possible. There are plenty of stories of people with low betas around 13/14 dpo that went on to succesful pregnancies.

elbee and raven: GOOD Luck with egg retrieval.

kelly: the lupron should be about $99. The menopur will be closer to 1K per box (I can't remember the exact number). I didn't shop around a lot as I wanted to be able to drive to the pharmacy in case of emergency:-)

mommytoone: good luck with your beta tomorrow

ritz: I didn't realize they didn't do a beta. Here they follow it mostly to make sure it isn't an ectopic pregnancy. When will you POAS?

Cindy: That's cute about your dh. It is amazing how sweet they can be when their excitement finally comes out.

Eclues and Curt: thinking of you guys.

JVal: I hope your transfer went/goes well.

AFM: I was doing well on teh estrogen then suddenly yesterday and today became very emotional (i.e. tearful). I am having a hard time with this cycle even thought it is really an easy cycle- maybe I didn't take enough time off from my last one as I am having a hard time feeling optimistic and hopeful at this point. And I have had so many great stories from friends that are finally getting pregnant on the 6th or 6th+ IVF cycles. Many of them with betas like your Cindy!!

Hi ladies, thanks for the support.

Catwoman, I take it things didnt go your way in the end?
Elbee, today I am 11dp3dt (FET). Thank you cindy. I still feel pretty down about this, the nurse was fairly negative about things and said that she would have wanted to see a minimum of 60. Its so hard though because I have spent all afternoon crying my eyes out, and now I cant help but to feel a little hopeful and then on friday if it goes badly, i am back to feeling crap again. Its such a roller coaster. I know you girls have all been through so much too.

Rebcat- Obviously you'd feel more comfortable with a higher beta, but I still think there is a good chance everything will turn out well. Here is something that someone found on a website and posted in another IVF forum...

3-DAY TRANSFER:
1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Even if your baby implants one day late it can make a difference in HCG levels. According to this you are right on target. I know we can't see into the future and know if everything will be OK, but I think you still have something to be hopeful about! :praying: for you.

catwomanbaby- Thanks! I hope you feel more hopeful and less teary in the days to come. When is your FET? I think having embies that survived and were strong enough to be frozen is a positive thing, and you have an excellent shot at a BFP!

Hah- I don't go into the clinic to poas- its a diy, at home thing then you call or email the results!! Still, reading the heartache that Rebcat is going through right now a hpt seems less painfull. (Yes/no answer) - Hugs Rebcat and fingers crossed for you!!

Elbee/Ranvenrub- good luck with er and I hope you get lots of good quality eggies!!

Catwomwanbaby- those hormones are sneaky- you think you're fine then BAM- you're a depressed wreck for a few days. Hope you feel better soon!

Cindy - What an awesome beta! Maybe you do have more than 1 in there! May the woman with the 3's was right on :D

Mommy - Cant wait to hear about those beta numbers! Sorry DH is being such a pain but I'm sure he doesnt want to get all excited after being thru what you guys have. Give him some time and he'll be jumping with you!

ritz - When you going to POAS? Praying for you!

Rebcat - what the heck is wrong w/ that nurse! I'm sorry you are going thru this but I say you are still PUPO! 21 beta is a positive! I'm :praying: that embie just implanted late.

Cat - Sorry you are feeling down. Thats a reason why I am taking a break. I need to calm down a lot! I still wake up in night sweats from the stress. I need a breather!

kelly - Freedom pharmacy is who I have used a few times. There are great and they give free meds after a failed cycle as well. Hopefully you wont need any free meds thos

Elbee - Good luck tomorrow! Cant wait to hear all the embies you got! Relax and keep us posted on the results!

Raven - Good luck tomorrow! I'm sure everything will be great! Remember, there are so many things we cant control so try not to worry about those things. Just try and be positive!
