PIO - no more room!

Postby jlojenjen » Sun Apr 17, 2011 5:17 pm

Hi ladies,

Any one else doing PIO and running out of space on the butt to do the shots? I just have about a hundred knots, and no space in between :) And I do not have a petite behind :)

Just curious if anyone has any tricks?

I was concerned about that this last ivf. With being on them for 12 wks it became a real pain in the @ss! Literally! When I asked the RE about it, he said just to keep using the same areas on each cheek and that it was ok to go into the knots. He said the knots were just the oil pooling but that the medicine itself had dissipated.
Are you putting warm compresses or a rice buddy on after each shot? That helps but doesn't completely make the lumps go away.
I hope that you are on the PIO for several more weeks to come!!! :D

Best of Luck to you!

^ this! I did this or applied a heating pad right after the shot. It helps with the soreness and almost eliminatres the lumping.

Yeah, my husband massaged the area for a long time after each shot and I did'nt have lumps. Maybe try that with some heat to help eliminate all knots.

I just had DH to them in the knotted areas...he even had to do them in bruised areas at one point. I have heated seats in my car so I would go sit in the car for about 15 minutes after doing them...I did them as soon as I got home so I also turned the seats on for the drive home. It helped some but my a$$ still looked awful.

I still have sore spots and am mostly numb. The feeling is kind of coming back! Slowly!

Thanks mommytoone, I pray that I can report a bfp soon!

And thank you to all of the ladies for your input. I am not as stressed about missing the knots now. I swear, the knots from my first shots 2 weeks ago are still there! I massage the area for a while after, and I use a heating pad. Seems to help some, but whoa!!! These are painful!

i always just went right into the same area but alternated sides. i laid on a heating pad afterward, but i really don't think it helped that much with the long term pain. it stays around for a ridiculously long time after you are done doing them. :(
