Anyone have a successful FET after a failed FET (same batch)

Postby SFK » Tue Apr 19, 2011 7:02 am

We have 5 embies left from our fresh cycle, we did a FET in March and it ended with a d/c at 7 wks. We have decided we will not do a fresh IVF cycle again for several reasons.

Has anyone had a successful fet after a failed FET or m/c from the same batch? Dr. doesn't think my MTHFR had anything to do with it but it was a chromsonal abnormality...

I had a failed fresh with the same embies I used for my frozen and it worked..not the same but still the same batch...

it is so hard since even though you know they are good quailty to make the freeze you really have no idea if they are chromsonally normal...does the dr think they can test the embies when they thaw?

I had two FETs with the same batch of blasts. The first FET three years ago resulted in my precious son and the second FET a couple months ago (same batch from 3 yrs ago) was unfortunately a BFN. So, each cycle you still have good chances...one can not work and one can work perfectly with the same batch! Good luck!!
ALso, we didn't think we would do another fresh IVF, but we are out of frozen blasts and so we are going through fresh again. You are so lucky to have 5, you have excellent odds!

I had a consult (prior to getting my bfp) at the clinic I was thinking of changing to and asked that exact questions. They had recommended that I do another FET if this one didn't work before moving on to another fresh cycle. I said I wasn't so sure as they would from a batch that would have given me a miscarriage and a negative. The RE said it really didn't work like that and I would still have a good chance of getting pregnant from a second FET even from the same batch of eggs. Good luck.
