Elevated Progesterone Level?

Postby Tjay » Thu Apr 21, 2011 5:03 pm

I am in an FET cycle with transfer date scheduled for April 28th. I have been on the estrogen patches since early April (transfer was originally supposed to be April 15th but my doctor wanted to go on vacation so they extended my cycle). I am supposed to start progesterone on the 23rd but went in for bloodwork and ultrsound today and got a message saying that my progesterone level is 4.9 and they need to see me tomorrow to check it again. If it is still elevated they may have to cancel the cycle. Why would my level be high? Could it be because they extended my cycle and prolonged my transfer date? I am so aggravated.

hmmmm. that is interesting. I'm not sure, are you on Lupron or are you doing an unmedicated cycle?

An elevated progesterone may mean that you ovulated. I know that is what they always tested on me to confirm ovulation before starting lupron when I wasn't on BCP's. Like Jade, I am wondering if you used lupron and if not if the estrogen alone didn't suppress you to the point that you ovulated. Good luck and I hope you don't have to do it again without a transfer. As an FYI, I delayed my cycle by a couple of days (did extra estrogen) for convenience (my dh was away on business). I don't think it mattered but I was on lupron as well.

Thank you Ladies. No I was not on Lupron. It was only the estrogen patches. I guess that was not enough because you are right, I did ovulate and the cycle has to be cancelled. I really was looking forward to being PUPO. I guess they will have to change my protocol next time. Thank you for your responses.
