Overheating embryos?

Postby elbee » Sat Sep 17, 2011 6:25 pm

Ok, ladies, please bear with me. Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm just know I have a chance to be a mommy and I don't want to do anything to ruin that chance. So, I took a nap on the couch yesterday afternoon after my transfer, and the house was cold so I had on sweats and a fleece blanket. I woke up extra hot and took the blanket off right away. The same thing happened this afternoon, and then I thought about it and I am scared that I might have harmed my embryos by getting too hot. Has anyone else felt this way who still got a BFP? I wonder how much overheating they can take, and I'm worried...

It's 99 degrees inside your body (or around that), so I doubt you raised your body temp by very many degrees even if you felt very warm. People do successful rounds of IVF in Arizona and Texas where it's super hot during the summer. The only advice I got on body temp was not to take super hot baths the first few weeks.

Thanks ladies, I'm really not a hypochondriac at all, but I just was so overheated that it freaked me out! I suppose if it's meant to be then it will happen regardless of my hot nap.
