Quick update: I got bad news today, betas are falling and it's an early miscarriage. We kind of feared that would be the case because the doubling time for the first two betas was 67 hours, but we were holding onto some hope that he was just getting a slow start. We have one last embryo in the freezer and will try FET again with her as soon as it's safe to do so (when betas get back down to <5). But this sucks!

Midwest- I was SO bummed to see your news. Miscarriages are difficult ... no two ways about it! Hopefully I can still give you some hope knowing that I too suffered a miscarriage and thereafter had our second baby boy from our FET of our last 2 embryos :) I see from your signature that you will be starting again in September and I will be cheering you on! Good luck!

Midwest! I am so sorry :( So disappointing! Doesn't matter how far along you are, miscarriage is a loss and it hurts. My heart goes out to you guys. I am sending you much healthy sticky bean dust for your next FET. Have your HCG levels dropped fully yet?

Hi, everyone,
Bad news. 9dp5dt, there's no line, so it looks like a BFN for me. Of course, there are still 3 more days of medications and betas (today & Monday) to go through, but I'm pretty sure this is it. I was convinced we'd be pregnant this time, so it's kind of a shock. DH and I really wanted another child, but for multiple reasons I don't think we're going to do IVF again. Big adjusting to do. I'll keep watching for any updates from you - especially as we all await Magpie's little girl.

Oh Midwest I am so sorry! That is a tough decision to make. I pray for you and your husband that you find peace in whatever direction you go with this. That's the same stance DH and I will be taking if our final IVF doesn't work. After this pregnancy and the last two embryos, there will be no more, and we are only doing the last two embryos because we aren't certain what else to do with them. Particularly since this pregnancy has been so difficult with controlling the gestational diabetes and the stupid cervical spine injury.

AFM: 24 weeks along, baby fine. Just fired my perinatologist practice since they kept contradicting each other's treatment plans and making me feel like the worst mother ever because my blood sugar wasn't less than 90 at all times. I am now back with my old midwife from last time and getting a new perinatoloigist that she recommends. Hopefully this will make the remainder of this pregnancy more positive.

Hang in there Midwest and feel free to vent on us if you need it.

Hugs,

Jenn

Hi, ladies,

Thanks for your kind words. Things suck right now, but we're working through it. I have a good counselor who specializes in infertility-related emotional issues, and DH and I are just giving ourselves some time to grieve. We also found a walk for National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day (Oct 15) and will be participating in memory of our son who died before we even got to the first ultrasound. I think it'll be nice - there's a little memorial service where they'll read the babies' names, and I like the idea of someone outside our family recognizing that his little life mattered.

Magpie - I hope you feel better soon. And I'm glad you're finding the right people to take care of you. What you said about transferring the embryos because you don't know what else to do with them makes sense to me. DH and I thought through that before doing IVF #2 because we didn't want to create potential lives and leave them forever in the freezer, nor did we think we'd be able to give them up for adoption by another family, so we were saying we'd be happy with however many children came from our batch of embryos. (Did not expect that number to be zero, however...)

Adventurer & Suzy - Thanks again for being supportive. The e-hugs help!

Hi ladies,

I've made it to 32 weeks with my rainbow unicorn sugar baby. I laugh at that term. I didn't know that natural conceptions in an infertile were called unicorns, and I didn't know that diabetic babies were sugar babies. I did know about rainbow babies though. So I've learned some new stuff lately. :D

I am dancing around the edge of a pre-e diagnosis, but so far managing to keep my bp down. Sugar is perfectly controlled, and nsts and bpps are going well. Baby girl has dropped into head first position and I am starting to lose little bits of mucus daily (sorry if TMI). I've never made it past 37 weeks, so I am expecting her around Xmas, although the perinatologist says we could go as far as 38 weeks as well as I am doing. It'ss probably be the bp that gets me again. It has been everytime so far.

Love the new perinatologist and new OB/midwife office. Quality, respectful care makes such a difference. The perinatologist spends at least one to two hours with me each appointment and answers EVERY question in as much detail as I want. It is like attending a university level bio lecture at times and I love it! I understand so much better how to manage my diseases and keep Rhiannon and I healthy, and it shows in my numbers.

My daughter delivered her baby this afternoon. Because the stupid hospital wouldn't admit her at 5am at 3.5 cm and instead sent her an hour drive back home, by the time I got her back to the hospital at 11am, she was at 8cm and ended up delivering au natural because it was too late to administer meds. Stupid insurance rules. I want to raise hell with them (hospital), but I can't. Thanks for letting me vent.

Grandson Sasha Leon Mora was born at 12:46pm 20.5 inches long, 7lbs 6 ozs. And of course I think he is the most amazing, handsome baby ever. No bias here! LOL!

I will let you guys know if anything big changes with my pregnancy or if I deliver.

Hugs,
Jenn

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all well. I had my baby on January 13th. Rhiannon Siobhan Provencher Neuberg weighed 8 lbs 0 ozs and was 19.5 inches long. We are both doing fine. The birth was not complicated at all.

Thanks for always cheering me on and listening patiently :)
