Adventurer you should def stay, I really appreciate your knowledge..

Hoping how was your appt today?

Annisa how are those babies cookin? I hope they're all chugging along! :)

I haven't checked in in a couple days. Quite frankly I'm running low on steam lol .. I think my PMS is kickin in which I didn't realize until today. But that is a great thing because that means we're getting closer!

I found out today that 7 of our embryos made it through everything to freeze. I've gotten myself a little worked up over it only being 7. But hello!! 7 is great! I'm just a nervous wreck about the test results. As long as we have hopefully 2 healthy ones to put back, what more can I ask for. I think I've been doing too much reading online. Might need to chill for a bit eeeekkk!

hi all - 7 is great!!!!!!!! hopefully there are a few good ones in there... chances r high wit 7! may I ask y ur doing pgd?

afm, I had to get a shot of centride to prevent premature ovulation... I have 4 leading follicles and 5 intermeduate ones... unfortunately re said centritide may slow the progress of the intermediate follicles... so I may have fewer... kind of disappointed... but we will have to see... have to see re again tomorrow...

best wishes!

Hi ladies!

all: that's fantastic! I'm envious haha. I only got 4 our first round. Mind you, I was pretty happy with 4 since only 5 fertilized.

Hoping: don't worry. I had three lead follicles last round but my intermediates grew in the 1.5 days post trigger and I ended up with 7 eggs. I drank fluids like crazy during those 2 days!

Annisa: hope you got a great day 3 report!

AFM: appt tmr am. Very nervous. I have been on Cetrotide since the beginning. I talked RE into it since I'm on DHEA and I was worrying about over-luteinizing my eggs (after reading Dr. Sher's blog). Hopefully that is why my growth is less this month compared to Feb!

Hi Aventurer, thanks for thinking of me. We just got home from our fabulous relaxing Easter holiday. We go to the same place every year with some friends and it really is the highlight of my year. I have checked out your progress on the other board and I am so happy you are stimming so nicely.

All, 7 making it to freeze is great! As you say, two good embryos would be wonderful. That is what I am hoping for too. I reckon the pressure would be too great for me if there turns out only to be one. But I need to consider the possibility that I could also get none!

Hoping, how are those follicles? It is quality, not quantity. I hope you get some good ones.

AFM:
At day 3 we had 6, 8 cell embryos and the rest were behind. At day 5 we had 3 hatching blastocysts which were biopsied and frozen. Then on day 6 another 2 blastocysts hatched and were biopsied and frozen. So we have 5. Now we wait 3 or 4 weeks for our results. I have had a lot of bloating and pain so I really need this time to recover from stims. Hoping we have 2 good embryos!

Wow, 5 hatching blasts is great!! I'm crossing my fingers that you get at least 2 normals! Glad you had a great Easter :)

AFM, at follie appt now waiting to find out how many/how big. I'm told they will sacrifice the lead one which relieves me because I have 12 other potentials. I'm feeling good today though!

Hoping: how are things? Hope you had a nice weekend!

Hi Everyone,

Best of luck with your cycles! I just wanted post a story with a happy ending to give everyone hope...

I'm happy to report that after four years of trying, we've had our two gorgeous baby girls! We suffered from unexplained secondary infertility - having had our little boy naturally with no problems, I then had five consecutive early miscarriages trying for a second. Three ERPC's after the missed miscarriages showed that there were 3 different genetic abnormalities which had stopped the embryos developing. Along the way we had a cycle of IVF (failed) and conceived 4 times using super ovulation, once spontaneously.

We did all the various genetic tests ourselves, but they didn't give us any answers. I had the 'chicago' bloods done at Zita West clinic. (I'd moved to Zita West after the failed IVF at CRGH) This didn't really show anything conclusive either.

By this point, we were in despair, and looking seriously into egg donation as our only viable option. As a last ditch attempt, we decided to try IVF with PGD at Zita West, having found out that they test all the chromosomes for each embryo, not just the ones most likely to cause problems.

Dr George retrieved 8 embryos from the cycle, and all made it to the 8 cell stage so they could be biopsied. Only 2 were found to be viable. (on a surgery note, the difference between my recovery after egg retrieval with Dr. Ndukwe and whoever did the surgery at CRGH was amazing - after the first egg retrieval (7 eggs) I was in loads of pain, lots of swelling and bleeding, and after the one at Zita West I recovered just fine! Also, the care was generally much, much better)

We decided to put both embryos back in, and were amazed and delighted to find that they both stuck.. I can still hardly believe that we have two healthy, beautiful babies!

So, all the heartache and injections and hormonal craziness was worth it for us - I wish you all the best.

all - how r u doing?

annisa - dats is great! y does it take 3-4 weeks for the results?

adventure - how'd ur appt go?

sash - thnx fir the hope..

afm, I was counting along wjen re was telling the sizd of folliclez to the nurse... he measured 18 folicles.. afterwards when im in his office, he told.me theres more than 10 sizeable follicles... I saw him listing 14... I know.the numbers will be.a tad bit different during er... he's afraid dat im being hyperstimulated bc I "fit" the category... so we r planning to do day 5 biospy, freeze, and hopefully yhere is/are some good "normal" embryos to transfer for a fet..

re says we can get the results in 24 hours, but doesnt want to rush them since we r olanning a fet and ao they can do a thorough job..

please please please let their be normal embryos for all of us... my er is wed. 7:30am... triggering tonite at 8pm

Hello All! Sorry I have not been back with an update.

Annisa I've wondering about you also.. 5 is a great number!! Very exciting. If you at least have one or two your good to go! My dr explained to me that when you have a healthy embryo after pgd, you have an 80% chance of pregnancy. Because the embryo is perfect. The other 20% is up to the uterus. I thought that was amazing news!!

Adventurer so glad things are really coming along for you! You sound so much happier and at ease. 12 potentials is great!!

Hoping sounds like your doing well! Good luck at er. Only one more day to pass until then. I bet your glad your doing an fet just in case you overstim. I can't imagine going through that and not getting to transfer. I was almost in that position as well but she slowed down with my meds the last couple days.

Sash399 thank you for your story! And congrats on those precious babies. :) Very inspiring!

AFM- I'm doing well.. Finally feeling back to normal. I found out on Saturday that we have 2 completely healthy baby girls waiting for us! :) I'm ecstatic about it!! More excited and ready now than ever! Just waiting for the witch to show. Prob tomorrow..

My dr explained as I said above that after pgd embryos they have an 80% chance of being a pregnancy and 20% is the health of the uterus. For that reason, she said she would not suggest putting in both as she's almost certain I'd have twins. She said we're not talking about a regular fet where the embryos weren't tested. This is a completely different deal and if she could guarantee I get pregnant she would lol.. She said put one back and save the other for a couple years down the road. My dr cracks me up!

Omg!!! Ladies! In a couple weeks we will all know our outcomes. I am so excited and proud of us all. This is a real roller coaster. You have to be a strong woman to get through. Love to all of you!

Thank you Hoping!! I can't wait! :)

We decided to do the testing mostly because of age and the fact that I've had so many issues. Just to make sure everything is good. I just wanted to do everything possible that I could to ensure a healthy pregnancy. I've waited long enough lol

Hoping, fingers crossed you trigger lots of good eggs! To answer your question, we have to wait so long for our results because they send the biopsies to another city for the cgh to be run. Sux to wait so long.

All, Yay for two chromosomally normal embryos! Congratulations! I am hoping to be in your position soon. And it is very encouraging to hear what a good chance a normal embryo has at implantation!!! I just don't want to hope too much and get let down. I must say I am slightly nervous about our results....you are right about the roller coaster. Will your FET be during this next cycle? Medicated or not?

Adventurer, how many?????

Sash, thank you for your uplifting story.
