Yes, The Florida Fertility Institute on booth road. The staff there is super nice and I asked last week if it was full. The Clinical trial coordinator told me they were but they just got word that they could add 10 more. Fingers crossed it works out for you! If its not full maybe you can schedule your consultation to become a patient on the same day as day 2-3 of your cycle to do the testing for the trial. Best of luck to you!

Thank so much - how is your cycle going? Where do they do the retrievals and transfers at? Do they have a facility or is it at a hospital?

3years - I thought about trying one that wasn't local but I only have 3 or 4 days off that aren't planned for the remainder of the year so I don't think I would have enough time and plus the added travel expense - maybe next year if I can't find something local :)

Riteous- its my first IVF cycle so I don't have anything to compare to, but I feel like it went well. They do everything at the same facility on N Mcmullen booth road. With the trial they do have a few rules that probably won't work with everyone. But for the discount I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. They really suppress you at first, my baseline e2 was < 5. Then they start the stims at 225 for everyone and only use FSH. My first scan was on day five and my estrogen was only at 137. So they upped the med to 450 for the rest of the stim days. I ended up stimming for 13 days. My e2 on trigger day was 3500. They retrieved six eggs, 5 fertilized via ICSI. They require a 3 day transfer of two embryos, so I just had my transfer yesterday with 2 8 cell embryos.

Jeanine - that's great!!! That location is very convenient for me as I work in Oldsmar and live in New Port Richey/Trinity area :) I understand they require ICSI on all as well right? Which is what I would want on my next cycle - we retrieved 9 and only 1 fertilized naturally those darn swimmers just weren't penetrating the eggs. Congrats on your transfer!!! Hopefully you'll be able to have the remaining 3 on ice for future FET's. Sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts your way!!

Thanks so much Riteous :). They don't require ICSI but they suggest it and don't charge extra for it.

Hi Adventurer, thanks! There is no way I can wait two weeks. I will definitely be POAS :)

Cramping something awful today. hcg is finally coming down. It's 189 today. My nurse called me twice today to check on me and let me know that the on call dr is aware that I might call in overnight to ask for a script for pain meds. I go back next week for another hcg test.

Hi ladies-
Sorry for my absence. Just climbing out of my cave.

Kate- I'm so sorry that you are facing yet another set back. As far as the psychologist- I am a social worker by day and therefore i totally commiserate with your statement "have you been through this...how can you help me." They may not feel your pain exactly, but may be able to help you find some coping mechanisms for this incredibly upsetting world of infertility. I recommend seeing someone....even just being blunt with them saying "i don't know how you can help me, but...."
I hope your trip to the coast helps to clear your mind. It sounds like a lovely trip.

SS- Sorry about the cramping, but I am glad your hcg is dropping. Enjoy your stay-cation. I have one of those coming up for myself next week. I took a few days off to just relax a little.

3years- Glad you were able to try acupuncture. How are you feeling with it? Relaxed at all? I was on herbs, but never during an IVF cycle. I have been on them during iui or during the past FET. Mine were specifically to help with my uterine lining. I wasn't crazy about the taste and they seemed to make my face break out.

Marie- How are you feeling? Any morning sickness?

Ananda- Thanks for sharing the article.

Wishing- yay for CD3 and hopefully getting started!

Jeanine- Welcome and keep us posted on you POAS results.

Adventurer- So proud of your little late blast! He/she is a fighter!

Annisa- Miss you...hope you're well.

Riteous- Hi!

AFM- Looks like AF is arriving....had some spotting tonight which usually will lead to full flow in the am. Because of the holiday weekend (for those not from the States- Independence Day) my RE is closed Friday....I will need to call tomorrow to see if I can be seen (they don't typically do monitoring/cycle starting on a Thursday). I wasn't really expecting AF until this weekend, so since she's early I'm hoping I can be seen tomorrow.
I have done a lot of hard thinking over the past few days. I am willing to try an iui cycle. So I am hoping to be seen tomorrow so we can get thing underway without having to wait another whole cycle. I am also in the process of going for a 3rd opinion. I scheduled an appointment with a new RE who specializes in people who have had failed IVF's/FET's. So I am hoping she will shed some new light or have some advanced technology that my current RE cannot offer me. Only issue is the new doc cannot see me for an initial consult until 7/11. Its a little more than a week away now, but seems so far.

Jeanine hello and good luck to you! :)

Adventurer how are you feeling? This bug you got didn't get worse? I hope not and you feel better and your weekend will be great! :)

3years how are after acupuncture? Needles weren't so bad I hope :) I am very proud of you that you did it :)

SS I know cramping sucks but I am happy your hcg is going down. It feels like everything will clean up naturally and it is really great news Honey!

Ash thank you for your suggestion. I think I will do that, go to the guy and be straight foreword with him.i think that getting 3rd opinion is a wonderful idea. Maybe your RE is missing something and not looking at whole picture. I hope that you will be able to do iui this cycle.

Have a nice long weekend girls :) Unfortunately we don't have 4th of July Holiday so I have to work ;P but 2 more weeks and vacations :)

Talked with DH yesterday. We agreed that we will wait one cycle and I will start estrogens on 2nd cycle even while on vacations (last days) because we will be back august 17th and it will be 5th-10th day of my 2nd cycle and my Doc agreed to see me next day after arrival for u/s and lining checkup and we will adjust meds then so we can do FET right away. So if everything goes as planned I will be heaving fet several days after arrival.

More bad news to kick me back into my cave............

I called the RE this morning because of course AF arrived like she always does. They were able to get me in despite being closed for the long weekend. They know that after all I've been through waiting out a cycle because they were closed is not an option.
So my doctor was on vacation, but the nurse kindly did my scan and blood and listened to my concerned/what I wanted to do with the cycle. So we came up with the plan of just doing 5 days of Letrazole and doing an iui in about 2 weeks. Well that was until my scan. Uterus looked beautiful...the thickest lining they have seen in a while for me....right ovary is nice and rested.....but then there the left ovary which has 2 big cysts. Both over 4cm. So there will be no meds, no iui, and no even trying on our own (which I know won't work anyways.)
So my RE wants to see me Monday- when she returns from vacation to determine what to do with these cysts. Give me birth control, drain them, just let them go away on their own.
Sooooo frustrating.....if its not one thing its another.

Ash- just wanted to pop in and comment real quick. I know exactly how you feel. I had cysts get in the way multiple times! After every iui we did, I was ready to jump right into another one but nope, had to wait and go on bcp between every iui. Even our first ivf was cancelled because of cysts. It sucks!!!!! And even though a month seems and feels like it's an eternity away and you are tired of freaking waiting (believe me, I get it), ultimately you want your body in the best shape from the beginning to move forward. Having cysts just means that your parties are responding really well to meds. Stay positive, you will be a mommy!
