I'm literally sitting in my Doc's office right now. Here's the quick run down:
14 eggs, 12 mature, 7 fertilized normally, after day 3, 3 were left, graded 1-A+ 2-B-.

Doc called me this morning, (day 5) and only 1 is doing fairly well, but it still hasn't reached the blastocyst stage so he recommends we do the transfer today and if one of the other ones looks better they will transfer 2, otherwise just the 1. So we are about 30 min out from doing the transfer. DH is a bit worried about not doing the genetic testing b/c of my age (38) but I gotta have faith it will all work out. We just want a Healthy, Happy, Capable child. So keep the good thoughts coming!

Yes have faith, it's always difficult but do believe that it will work. My specialist did say that the mind plays an important role (this coming from Mr Science himself!) So did they put two back?
Never a truer word,,, "just a healthy, happy capable child",, we put two back with our last transfer, fekt as if I was greedy (bit of a weird feeling!) but only one took (ended @10wks though),,, good luck and hope the 9 days go quickly. Will be thinking of you!

Yes, they did transfer 2 afterall. We've done two other IVFs and always had 2 transfered, but those were 3dts. 1st IVF, one stuck and we had a beautiful girl whose now 4, the 2nd one, both failed.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I think that is the toughest part of this whole journey. I has so much blind faith that everything would be fine with my 1st. I never had any fears about miscarriage or pregnancy probs or birthing issues and for the most part everything was fine. The 2nd time around was so disappointing and this time I'm so much more aware of every thing that could go wrong. BUT still very optimistic! 9 more days.

Hi girls. Herman, just wondering how everything is going with you? Roar, any updates with you?
I am having a frustrating time with the nurses at my clinic, they can't tell me what my protocol will be as yet. I know I am only one person in their day, but this is my whole world to me and means so much that I control everything that I can, when so much is out of my control. I have sent an email to my doctor tonight to say that I need to know what is happening. I want to be part of the discussion and decision and not just wait to be told what I am to do, wondering if they really care or if I am just a 'generic patient'. Sorry for rant :(

Hi ladies,

I haven't posted much on here since my own failed IVF last June, but I can relate to this group a lot so I thought I would say hello and wish you all luck! It's a good feeling to know you aren't alone and when you can root on others in similar situations! I'm going to Dr Sher in Las Vegas like Adventurer and doing a very similar, but more aggressive protocol. My AMH is almost non existant so I don't respond well to stims at all so we also do estrogen priming and HGH steroids to try and help the cause. I am embryo banking and did a cycle in March that only produced 1 mature egg which thankfully fertilized and made it to blast and is frozen. I am doing my second and last session coming up in late April/early May. I start Lupron this Friday for a week, then switch to Cetrotide Agonist/Antagonist Conversion protocol. My ER will be around May 13 or 14, hopefully with more than 1 this time. I'm more nervous this time because it's my last try and I only got 1 last time. It's so hard to go on the hormonal rollercoaster for this long, but i'll do as much as I can to get a baby that's made from me and DH.

Herman: I'm rooting for you and hope you having a sticky bean in there! I will check for updates :D

Rebcat: Hope you get answers soon about your protocol. It's stressful enough to deal with without the clinics making us crazy with their lack of organization.

Roar: Love your positivity!

Hope: I can't believe you lost your eggs like that. I don't even know what to say! Have you decided what your next step will be?

Adventurer: :happyforyou: Hope you are doing great!!!

Hi Everyone,
No news yet to report and although most go for the at home test, I'm a bit paranoid to test too early, so I'm waiting it out. Luckily I'm on a work seminar trip this week so it's helped the week go by a bit faster.

I'm definitely tired, hungry, boobs are sore, but the meds also account for all that, so while I'm very hopeful, I'm definitely getting more anxious.

Mandy- as one of my friends who did ivf with both of her kids said, "it only takes one!" Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hope you all have a great Friday!

Hello all!

Herman- good idea with the work being busy etc,,, I hope things are going well for you. I never do the at home pregnancy test until the morning of the blood test, I can't handle the negatives and when it has been positive I never know if it's booster hcg shots or the real thing. And I agree, the meds always make you FEEL preg but in reality the hcg doesn't even kick in until approx 12dpo (or egg collection!) so really it drives one mad!

Rebcat- any news? I think that its one, of the many, frustrating things with ivf,, this IS your world. Your every thought, it never leaves your mind and when the clinic doesn't quite "get" that it kinda hurts. My clinic is a bit different here, I meet with the specialist and discuss where to, what to do,etc and we write up the protocol together,, from there I'm in constant contact with nurses and not so much the specialist, , I do email and text msg my specialists occasionally but I think that's purely due to me being with him for 3 yrs and think he feels sorry for me lol!! Rant away I say,, sometimes it's what one needs to do!

Hi Mandy, wow so amazing you are doing back to back cycles, so impressive. I've average one fresh cycle a year and it's been "enough" (mentally & physically) for me. Super impressed. One egg Shld still be celebrated, we have to celebrate the ups as the downs are quite often in this lifestyle. Dr sher sounds amazing and I have been reading adventuers history in another thread. I started lupron (here called lucrin) last Saturday so have been on it a week now (10 units a day) feel as if I'm going a bit cray cray emotionally but hey,,, what do u do!!! My ER is approx 5th May but if course dependent on bloods etc, we are kind of around the same time for "events".

AFM- one week of lupron and I'm an emotional wreck. Have quite a bit of pain in ovaries etc but think that's endo. As for my positivity the last two days I've been very flat, very negative, very over it (keep telling myself it's the lupron) I'm trying my best to accept what has happened so far and move on but it's been difficult. Seeing my counsellor next week, a much need app! Also, was hoping this last cycle was our miracle pregnancy (shldnt be greedy as we did have one of those in 2010) anything to avoid OHSS,, but alas it appears we are off again,,,

Hello to everyone else,, I'm sure Annisa isn't checking up on this thread but do hope she's ended up with a lovely BFP.

Hi everyone

Roar, sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit flat. I totally understand though. Do you find that the counselling helps? I am a bit uncertain. Its good to talk to someone about everything going on, but I just can't help but to feel like the counsellor can't do anything but sympathise. There are no tools or magic words to fix what we are feeling and I just dont know what the counsellor can offer. I have had a few sessions after failed cycles and one around using a donor. The best thing about it is that the office is right next door to an amazing wine shop! Bad attitude I know, but little pleasures right! The way I try to pull myself out of the negative thoughts is to tell myself that there will be plenty of time to be sad when I know for sure there is something to be sad about, so in the meantime I may as well just pretend its going to work and enjoy some 'time off' the sadness.

Herman, how are you feeling? This is one of the hardest parts when you second guess any symptoms you feel and wonder what if. How cruel that the symptoms of success and non-success (lets not use the f word) are the same. Thinking of you and fingers crossed that this is your time.

Hi Mandy, lovely that you are joining us, but also sorry that you have to be here at all. That sounds like a pretty full-on regimen that you are going through. It must take a lot of emotional strength. I hope that you get more than one egg this time round, as it will just give you that extra reassurance. Is the protocol you are doing now different from the one you did in march?

I am still none the wiser about what I am doing. My doctor said he is meeting with colleagues about me this week and will decide what to do. He probably won't get in touch so I will have to do all the chasing. So much for patient-doctor shared decision making!

Hope all is well with everyone

Hi there
It has been a while since I last posted, but have had a catch up of whats been happening.
Sorry about your news Herman. Hope you are surviving the emotions afterwards.. it can be really tough. I can relate to your results plus no Fet.

Adventurer hi and hows your pregnancy going ??

Mandy Ive had to accept what happened just happened...
after 3 sessions of counselling ive been told by the lovely lady that ovulation can occur before EC and that if I decide to go back to the same clinic that I do need to be in total control of what is going on. On top of my meds, make sure there's enough, etc etc.
Dunno... it could all be the LUCK of the draw on the particular month whether you get a Bfp ??!!
Theres no right or wrong way. I may of had a negative result anyway.

Im waiting on my AF. Its Day37 !!
Has anyone experienced a longer cycle after an IVF round? Is it anything to be concerned about girls?

I have also been to 2 sessions of Acupuncture. The plan is to go again on Day1 for Acup. and some TCM herbs.
I have a new diet recommended as well.

Hope youre all doing well

Hi everyone

Hope, yes I have found that it is normal to have a longer cycle after doing an ivf round. I am usually pretty regular with a 28 day cycle and I remember being at least a week late after some of my ivf rounds. It seemed to become regular again by the second month. I am going to try acupuncture for the first time, not sure exactly when I am supposed to do it? I also just wanted to agree with your counsellor - this whole thing is so it of control that I try to find strength in gaining control over the things that I can influence.

The good news is that my doctor finally got back to me with my ivf regimen plan. The bad news is that they took so long that there now isn't time to do it to coincide with the planned egg collection week in the first week of June. I now have to wait for my next af and start then, with an estimated ec week around July 20th. Extremely frustrated with this, but trying to stay calm and not go ballistic at my clinic and therefore alienate myself. Fuming inside though. The plan is to start with the ocp, then buserelin for two weeks, add testosterone patches for 5 days, then stim with gonal f and menopur. I have always used puregon so gonal is new, and have never tried menopur. I did testosterone patches once before with a cycle but they didn't seem to make much difference. I guess time will tell. I am feeling really apprehensive that this will all just end badly like everything else and it is so much money that it makes me feel ill.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Herman, not sure if you are reading still, but hope you are ok. Roar, what is happening with you?
