Hey Ladies,

I thought I would get the April/May board up and running! I am starting IVF #1 in April after 2 years of trying and I couldn't be more excited! I have unexplained infertility and DH has some MF issues. We received our calendar yesterday and after wrapping up BCP on 4/7 we should start stims on 4/11. My RE has me on the antagonist protocol and we are opting for ICSI + PGS so I am assuming the earliest our ET will be is in late May.

I've been a long time stalker on these boards and am really excited to contribute and share. Can't wait to meet some IVF cycle buddies!!!

Hello!
I'm in a slightly different position, I'm using DE with my IVF. First time for us, doing the scratch, glue, and embryoscope. Just now waiting another 20 more days and I start downregging. Got my injection training next week, then we're off and running. So we should be ET around same time. I have unexplained infertility, now probably the age of eggs, but I was not stopping TTC for 6 years prior to the 6 years I've now been with my DH. So don't think it was ever going to happen for me. Now, at my ripe old age we've had every test going, tried everything and still nothing no issues for DH, he seems to have super sperm by the sounds of it! But scraped together the funds finally, now excited to get going.
Not going through all the things you will, but certainly some of it I will, so hope I can share and contribute too!

Good luck with it all Kahala84!

Claireu x

Hello, ladies! Thanks, Kahala, for starting an April/May thread.

I'm 34 years old, have ovulatory dysfunction due to low progesterone, and feel very blessed to have a 19-month-old daughter conceived by IVF. We really want to have a second child but used our only frozen embryo for a FET in January, which was a BFN. :( Finally, we're ready to go again, planning for IVF in early May. I had mild OHSS last time and so we're doing a freeze-all cycle with plans for FET in July. I'm on BCP now, just started this week. I'm also trying to lose a little weight before getting preggo, making decent progress with calorie-counting.

I look forward to sharing the ups & downs with you. Last time, it was so helpful to have other women who truly understood!

Hi Claireu & MidwestGirl! Excited to meet you ladies. Claireu- it nice to find someone that will hopefully be having their ET around the same time- fingers crossed we’ll be able to celebrate our BFPs at the same time too!

MidwestGirl- I am so sorry about your BFN in January. I completely agree with you though about the sharing ups & downs with woman who get it... as this is IVF #1 for me I am a little nervous to say the least :)
I’ve been in the process of losing weight too. I met with an acupuncturist who suggested I drastically reduce my carbs and follow more of a paleo diet. I am not sure if that is something they would suggest across the board but it was a suggestion she made to help be better manage the BCP and the upcoming injections. This is the 2nd month for me on BCP ( last month I had genetic testing and a hysteroscopy) and I do feel like the diet has mellowed me out slightly ;)
Are either of you doing anything in the way of vitamins or supplements outside of a prenatal?

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and about to start my first IVF, after 5 unsuccessful IUIs. I'm feeling very optimistic and I like my RE a lot. I'm 37 with unexplained infertility and we are using donor specimen.

I noticed Kahala84 asked if anyone was taking any supplements other than prenatal. Here's what I'm doing and my RE said to stay on until I get pregnant: CoQ10: 1200mg daily (600mg twice daily), DHEA: 75 mg (25mg 3x daily), Vitamin D: 2000iu. Until I start stimming I'm also taking 500mg Maca daily and ¼ teaspoon royal jelly, my RE didn't care either way if I take either of those. I'm doing Estrace priming (started day 21 of this cycle), I think for low ovarian reserve, until AF comes.

I'm expecting AF any day, so I will be starting my injections after US/BW on day 3. I'm pretty excited/nervous but I'm a big believer in the power of positive thinking and so we are envisioning a great cycle. I decided against CCS testing because of the added cost, so not sure if it will be Fresh or FET. My RE clinic does a lot of FET, so that may be the route.

Hi All

I will also be cycling around May too.
I am scheduled to have a Myomectomy on April 28th and thereafter wait for AF in May and then start my protocol.
I am also using DE this cycle. I have tried IVF in December and we have to change over to IUI with a BFN.
Then in Feb we started another cycle and there was no stimulation at all. Cycle cxd and started looking at DE.
RE picked up fibroids inside the uterus which must be removed.
Just regrouping and taking some time to ourselves before we start over again.

All the best to you ladies and lots of baby dust to all of us.

Finally the April/May board!

My 1st attempt at IVF was cancelled due to under stimulation. Here I am waiting for AF to show in the next week or so I can start stims again! Best of luck to everyone on the board this month and I cant wait to keep up with everyone!

Welcome Jennie, jewels, sajee, and shandie!!!! This is going to be an amazing couple of months... All the best things bloom in April/may! :)

Jennie, ugh... Under stimulation?!? I'm so sorry the stims didn't do their thing on cycle 1. Is your doc gonna change the protocol a bit for the second round? Hope AF comes quick! Wear some tight white pants and I'm sure she'll be here lickety-split. ;)

Afm, my mock ivf is tomorrow! Eeeek! I have to sneak out of work VERY sneakily, hope no one notices my absence.

Hi Kahala, thanks for starting this board. We are here after 3 failed IUI's. I have also been stalking this page and wanted to stay on top of it as there are so many people in IVF forums and it can take ages to catch up!!!! Good luck with you STIMS.

Claire your protocol sounds complicated I am not familiar with IVF terms as yet! Good luck, 6 years is a long time to be waiting...

Midwestgirl, you know you can do it thats a good start! Hope this is your month!

Alexandra love your enthusiasm and your tickers :D Good luck with your practice run :D and you get away with your sneaking :D

shandieco, we understand the frustration with failed IUI's and are also using donor sperm. how have you found acupuncture?, we tried for the last IUI cycle, not sure whether to try again....?

SAJEE have seen you on other forums, sorry to hear that you are still waiting on BFP. Hope the fibroid removal goes well, keep us posted.

Jewels good luck with your scan :D

jennie, hope AF arrives soon so you can start your cycle :D

Not sure if we will be able to start this month now as we have no care plan and its Easter so will be CD6 before we can have contact with the Dr ...argh....

Hey everyone! Welcome Alexandra, Jennie, Jewels, Sajee, Shandie & Babee!

Sajee, keep us posted on the fibroid removal. Hope things move quickly!

Shandieco, thanks for the supplement rundown I am on CoQ10, B complex, NAC and some nutra-flax capsules just to clear some excess estrogen, and of course a prenatal. I’m going to ask my RE about adding Vitamin D.

Alexandra how did your mock ivf go today!?! I hope everything went smoothly.

Babee, sorry to hear you might be having some scheduling difficulties, it's always a hurry up and wait situation isn’t it?

Ok, so happy we’ve got some people on this board now! Can’t wait to hear how everyone’s progressing!
