IVF and Indigestion

Postby mmmoore » Sat Apr 04, 2015 6:35 am

This may be a LONG shot but I am hoping someone can help me.

I am in Day 5 of stimming. I was doing well until yesterday afternoon when I got this shooting pain at the base of my rib cage to the right of my ribs. I have had gallbladder issues in the past (but this was different). Even so, I suspected it was that and moved on. Well last night the pain was so unbearable that I thought I was going to have to go to the ER. I called my RE doctor on call and she said that it was probably just indigestion, which sometimes happens with the meds.

Has this happened to anyone else? The pain is there this morning, just not as strong. It hurts to twist or bend over (so I am thinking it is my gallbladder or stomach).

Tums are not touching it! Help!

Not sure it's the digestive system at all. You've been on stims for 5 days, so probably your ovaries are getting big by now... around that time in my IVF cycle I definitely had some uncomfortable pelvic stretching/bloating type pain that sometimes produced shooting pains in my lower abdomen. For me, that was position-dependent (worse with sitting or bending down). But if it's unrelenting, you should go get it checked out. Especially so if it's accompanied by nausea/vomiting and/or fever.

Thanks MidwestGirl for responding! I am feeling a lot better! Maybe it was stretching or maybe it was indigestion! Either way, feeling lots better!
