I'm donating eggs but my oestragen is skyrocketing

Postby Jade28 » Wed Apr 29, 2015 3:27 am

Hi everyone,

I'm new here!!! I'm donating in nz to my cousin.
I was on stims for 8 days and grew ridiculous amount of follies. Bloods showed my oestroal or oestrial... Oestragen (yes seriously new to this) anyway those levels were at 20,000!!!!!!
So of course our cycle was cancelled. Heart ache all round. I had mentally prepared myself for everything with donating to my family member but I hadn't realised how upset I would be of cycle was cancelled. It's just horrendous. I suddenly realise how blessed I am to have my fertility... Ivf is so harsh emotionally and every step to pregnancy is so fragile. I'm feeling really sad! Maybe it's hormones too?!!
Now three days later my levels are 35,000.
Is this dangerous?!'

We have found out we are eligible for another funded cycle so I'm hopin to go again with stims next month. I need to get my oestragen levels down before then though.
Any tips?

It sounds like you have ohss. Drink Gatorade or pedialyte. Eat lots of protein. What a great thing you are doing!! I hope things go better next cycle. It sounds like your dr needs to monitor you more than this cycle. Good luck!!

Sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. :( your estrogen is high but it will come down. Being in NZ, an estrogen of 35000 is about 10,000 in US units. Sunshine gave great advice! Will your RE monitor your follicles and estrogen after the cancelled cycle?

As for the next cycle you will need a lighter protocol as you were over stimmed. What meds were you taking for this protocol?

I'm sorry your cycle was cancelled. Ours was cancelled today because my estrogen levels at my baseline appt was 141, and they only proceed if they are under 50. Lots of tears, heartache, and disapointment today. When do you get to start again? I don't get to until July. They are going to start me on stronger bcp in June to hopefully regulate the levels. I had just bought tons of citrus fruits to make my own sugar free, dye free homemade Gatorade to reduce risk of Ohss. Not sure why my baseline was high, before even stimming, unless it is related to my pcos. Either way, the let down feels terrible, when you become so set on something. I think that is awesome that you are helping out your cousin. Hugs to u and your family, and best of luck next round.
