Postby isaac'smum » Thu Jul 09, 2015 2:32 pm

Hey there

I started taking stims (300 IU puregon) yesterday... on a short protocol so E/R will be in about two weeks. Anyone else in a similar boat and want to buddy up?

Wow 26 fertilised, that's amazing! I was happy with 7!

I've heard the PIO IM shots are pretty intense, I had pessaries when I did it last year but that was in the UK... not sure what they do here in NZ.

Is there a reason they wouldn't transfer two? You will surely have lots to choose from...

Yes I was full! ER was a relief. Congrats, 7 is a great number! I guess they are concerned about OHSS, 2 may pose an increased risk with all the extra hcg production. Still don't know for sure what the plan is but for now I'm following instructions hoping for a double transfer. Good luck with your ER!

Hi ladies,
I'm on a July/Aug cycle. I just finished stim and triggered this week. We had an egg retrieval yesterday, 17 eggs. We are quite pleased because we've never had more than 12 mature. Unfortunately my progesterone levels are far to high this cycle and my lining is too thick for a transfer. The plan is to do biopsies for genetic testing then freeze day 5, which would be Wed.

Our concern is we've never been able to freeze. Our embryos don't last to that stage. Last cycle, Apr, we went to day 5 for the 1st time, transferred 2, BFN. So we are hoping the high progesterone means my eggs are stronger.

Good luck to you both!

Herman2 congrats on your 17 eggs that's awesome! If you don't mind me asking, Did they tell you why your progesterone was so high? I'm new to IVF and it's interesting to read how we are all doing IVF yet we all have such different infertility stories.

Zerbinetta0 hello again and good luck with your upcoming U.S. And stims! I'm so excited for you.

Wow 17 eggs... nice one Herman2, I'm don't know that much about it, but that seems like a really good number for your age. I was 38 when we did it last year and was told the 10 I got was good. Have you been doing anything different since your last cycle (supplements etc) which might account for the higher progesterone (and hopefully higher egg quality)?
Really hope you get to Day 5... we had 2 day 3 transfers but none of the rest made it to freeze, am hoping we might get to day 5 this time around.

Hey Zerbinetta0... I'm wondering how my ovaries are going to perform this time around too... due to moving back to NZ and work commitments, it's been a whole year since we did our last cycle... I will be 40 in October so I have been feeling we have to get a move on. Depending on how I respond, I think we will be doing ER next Sunday.

Hey Nebraska418 :D

3 years is a long time hey... we are at around 2 1/2 years... it's difficult when there's no explanation, we were like that (other than probably my age) until recently when we discovered my DH had an issue.

I'm also on day 5 of stims but my first ultrasound is not until the day after tomorrow... it is nerve wracking waiting to see what's going on inside, there are so many variables in it all.
How are you feeling? My stomach is getting kind of big which I'm hoping is a good sign (luckily I work from home so can hang out in leggings all day).... I was on lower doses last time and never really felt bloated or anything until right towards the end of the stims...

Isaac's mum, I'm not feeling too bad. Had a couple headaches mostly right at first, and I'm starting to feel swollen and uncomfortable , which I also hope is a good sign. I thought my first US was far out. Two more days for you? Ugh. I would be going crazy, too. Still waiting for my appt today so I'm going crazy as it is lol.

Hello ladies!

My name is Jen. I'm currently on the 5th day of stims, too! I had my US this morning. Had 3 follies on the right between 10-14mm and 3 on the left between 9-14mm. This is definitely an increase from my previous two IVF cycles. They've increased my meds this time around, hoping to produce a few more follies. I should hear back from the doc's office later today with further instructions. My nurse thought that I'd probably start Ganirelix tonight and will probably go back for another US on Wednesday.

FX for good news for you all on your upcoming US. I can't imagine having 17 or 28!! My body has been very reluctant to produce more than a few at a time. That is really great to have so many!!

Hey Jen!

Welcome to the group! That is cool that the three of us are on the same day... Great news that your follies have increased. 6 is a respectable number and more can pop up as you go along... I think I started with about that and ended up with 10 eggs at EC. It does only take one good one and you are still young (not almost 40 like me!) so your eggs should all still be good quality. I have increased my meds from last time as well so am interested to see how I respond.

nebraska418... I know! my clinic gives you your first scan at day 8 (day 7 of stims) which is a long wait!... Luckily I have been busy with work which has taken my mind off it a bit... Hope your scan went well :)

Thank you for the welcome. We're actually questioning the quality of my eggs because as far as we can tell, I'm healthy - shouldn't be anything preventing pregnancy, yet here we are two years later, still TTC #1.

Got the call from the IVF coordinator just now and they will have me start Ganirelix tomorrow to prevent ovulation. Based on previous IVF cycles, that'll probably put retrieval on Sunday! Eep!
