OHIP IVF coverage !?

Postby MissClaire » Mon Sep 28, 2015 10:44 am

Hi Ontario Ladies : )
Just thought I'd throw this on here - we heard from our RE yesterday that there's been a decision on the proposed OHIP coverage changes (he's on the advisory board I think )

We were told that OHIP will be covering IVF by December : )

We have been TTC for 2 years, after 17 IUIs and 4 miscarriages (with no diagnosis, every single test has come back perfectly normal ) we are going to move on to IVF - the cost was going to be a major hurdle and we were considering giving up - so this news is huge for us : )
Just thought I'd share in case there are couples out there in the same position

Love, strength , and baby dust to all !
TTC since 2013 - IUIs with donor sperm
17 IUIs - Femara / Ovidrel / Progesterone
4 miscarriages...

I read the same thing yesterday. Basically very few things might not be covered- and even there there is some assistance if I understand correctly. Our OHIP kicks in in December and we will find a fertility specialist between now and then, so I can write an update on what the deal is when we start paying (or not) for fertility services. :)
TTC since: December 2011
July 2014: Diagnosed with poor ovarian reserve
September 2014: Clomid round 1
October 2014: Clomid round 2
December 2014- January 2015: IVF round 1- negative
March 2015- spontaneous (unmedicated, babydance only) chemical pregnancy.
We saw a doctor during the summer in Europe, he suggested endometriosis may be an issue.
New doctor- waiting for AF to do first test (3rd day of period).
