Any success stories after a difficult transfer?

Postby Crick04 » Thu Mar 10, 2016 1:15 pm

I had two grade 4BB blastocyst transferred yesterday. It took two attempts to complete the transfer. On the first attempt a tenaculum was used along with several different catheters. After about 15 minutes the doctor asked to take a break and then about 4 hours later we attempted again under sedation with success. Had anyone else had a difficult transfer with a BFP?

My doctor seems to blame scaring on my cervix from a prior c section as to why she had such difficulty getting the catheter in. In my opinion the scaring came from a D&C I needed after a miscarriage two years after my c section. :(

Could she have done something about the scar before the transfer?

From what I read online the most popular answer is to do a dilation of the cervix prior to the transfer date. I had a dilation at the egg retrieval about a month ago, but evidently the dilation is only temporary.

Absolutely could have handled it better but I'm sure she was hoping the dilation a month ago would help. Thanks for the well wishes! Best of luck to you too!
