B82- when is your beta? Will you do a hpt before or try to hold out?

How's everyone else doing?

I just got our initial call - of 6, 4 were mature (or "good" as the lab described) and 3 fertilized normally with ICSI. Pretty much exactly what I expected. I'm feeling good that our little one is in there. Now I just need him/her to keep growing!!!

Hi ladies,

I'm on my phone again - sorry. Will do proper personals tomorrow when I go back to work because I can't go back and check on here.

Welcome Mrs.B82. Good luck! Great to have you here

Annaluca - congrats - that's a great maturity and fertilization rate so far! I know someone from my Insta community with very similar numbers that just got her BFP. Rooting for your embabies. How are you feeling?

Emwaz - fingers crossed for you and sticky babies. I agree with Anna - my doc also says better to get moving around over the next few days - just no major workouts

Me: well just like I thought I'm on a bit of a rollercoaster. I can't help but compare to last time. They retrieved 16 eggs - one more than last last time but this mornings call only 10 were viable and 8 fertilized. That's 2 less than last time. Those were the labs words "only 10" which of course set me off. I'm so worried that the drop off is even bigger than last time already. Last time all 10 made it to day 3 and then 8 stopped growing. So I really wanted something to freeze this cycle but now I will just be grateful for something to transfer. I won't be able to relax until Saturday.

Annaluca- Beta is on the 3rd. I am telling myself I am going to hold out (but havent been able to in the past). I am really trying not to concentrate on it this time, eat healthy, keep my stress down and trust in God that this is our time. Congrats on your numbers! Ours were fertilized through ICSI as well, it sure is amazing what they can do! When is your transfer?

Me2- Thank you!

EmWaz- We are only a couple days apart.. Sending you baby dust! I only had 1 transferred, we are only allowed one at a time due to Provincial Healthcare. Will you do a hpt or try to stick it out? When is your beta?

B82, my beta is on the 3rd too. I promised myself that I wouldn't test early this time! I even talked with my Mom-Boss (I am a nanny) this morning and she said she obsessed while trying for all of hers and it makes you crazy town! I am just going to keep doing my meds (2mg estrace 2x/ day, and Endrometrin 3x/day.)
We transferred 2 this time as per my clinic protocol. Last time I was a few months shy of the recommendation for 2 vs 1 and I was disappointed that we only did the one even though I am slightly terrified of the idea of twins. I have been a nanny for 1u years and I specialize in infants/toddlers. I usually have two babies the same age at all times. I am prepared, but will be perfectly happy with just one of my own! I know it is hard to be hopeful and also guarded for disappointment, but I am allowing myself to be excited!

Good luck EmWaz and B82!! The 3rd feels forever away, but it will be here before we know it. My beta will be on the following Monday, the 6th, so I feel you and I haven't even had my transfer yet!

Me2- I'm sorry you're so stressed. This part just plain sucks. Remember that you gave yourself extra time to let your eggs mature and sure up quality so this time is already different than last time. I'm hopeful that you'll get a great response. And as much as I know how impossible it is, try to focus on the present. Get through this cycle Before worrying about the next. You very well may end up with twins and decide you're done!

Afm, I have my own share of worry/anxiety about whether to do a 3 or 5 dt. Dr is pretty much leaving it up to me. I am going to call the lab in the morning to see how my 3 are doing then will try to get on the phone with the dr to discuss. I did a 3dt last time and both took, but I know that success rates are higher with 5dt and that is my clinics protocol now. They would essentially be making an exception. I really don't know what to do. Hopefully it becomes clear tomorrow after talking with the lab. That said, I see a lot of googling in my future tonight.

Me2Please - that's fantastic numbers! Are you guys doing ICSI or regular IVF? Keep us updated on the progress!

Annaluca - I totally understand that you were hoping for more eggs, but my friend recently had 7 retrieved, 6 mature and all 6 of them fertilized and made it to day 5 blastocysts. So really anything can happen - I'll keep my figers crossed!
For the sample quality - we are doing IVF due to male factor (low morph & motility) and my RE says that with ICSI the overall sample quality doesn't matter as long as you have x amount of healthy swimmers, which your husband definitely had. So if possible try not to worry about that! Will you guys be doing a frozen or fresh transfer?

EmWaz - any news your on how many they could freeze? When will you be able to test or go in for your beta?

MrsB82 - Welcome!!! So sorry to hear that your first two transfers failed. Do they have any idea why?

Question to all: how long did it take for your ovaries to shrink back? I had mild/moderate OHSS during the last week and it's now exactly 8 days Post egg retrieval and my belly is still so massively swollen. I can't even wear pants cause the waist line pushed on the ovaries too hard and is very uncomfortable.
When did you take up sports again after the egg retrieval?

Hi ladies,

Annaluca - that's a big decision for you to make. How did the googling go? Any news on your little embies? That's really nice that your clinic is making an exception for you. I asked mine if I could have that option at the beginning of this cycle and they said I can't. Sending you lots of luck and behind you whatever you decide! FX :luck: :luck: :luck:

HopeSIN - We did ICSI because of severe MFI and I am happy because both times 80% fertilized with ICSI which my doc says is great. My ovaries are also still swollen and heavy and I am dying to go back to gym. Think I will just stick to walking though for the rest of the week. It sounds like you should definitely take another few days off exercise - listen to your body. Can you do just gentle walking? I think last time I I went back to gym after transfer but it still felt a bit heavy even then. It should go down in the next week or 2 for you. If it doesn't call your doc to be safe.

MrsB.82 - Keeping the stress down is always the tough part isn't it? Fingers crossed for the 3rd. My beta is scheduled for the 8th so will be just a week behind you guys.

EmWaz - Also got FX for you. I also would absolutely love twins - though I do get nervous about the actual pregnancy - but having 2 little babies I think I would be in heaven. I will also be happy with one though - just give me a baby at this point. :)

AFM - Well yesterday was just a meltdown of a day for me. I am sorry about my rant - I know we are all in a tough space at the moment. I didn't go to work - just stayed home and watched movies and basically was useless. I feel like I have some mental issues from my last cycle that are still with me. However, I am much better today. Picked myself up off the floor and just accepted that what will be will be. So I got up early - went for a nice (decaf) coffee and worked in the coffee shop and now I am about to finish up some work that needs doing at the office. Thanks for all the support ladies - will be checking in for updates on all of you xxxxx

EmW- You can keep me on my toes not to cheat and test early. It's neat to have a same test day buddy (sending you so many positive vibes). I am on 2mg Estrace BID and 1mg Prog injections every evening. I wish I could transfer two. We are not allowed as our IVF was funded through Provincial Healthcare and their policy is only 1 emby per transfer. If we pay out of pocket then I have the choice. They also discouraged me against it anyway due to being high risk; but if I had the option I would take my chances.

Hope - It is unexplained, they both disintegrated. I did not prepare my body the way I should of so I am sure that had a lot to do with it. Could also be low quality eggs. If this round or next does not work we will be going to a specific specialist to have my eggs tested. They can actually do an augmentation of the eggs to increase the quality of it and then we would do IVF out of pocket. I refuse to give up! Our little emby this time is a fighter it grew extremely well in the 24 hours from defrost so I am having Faith and refuse to allow myself to give in to bad thoughts!

Anna- Thank you.. Are you going to hold out from testing early? I love we are all so close together!!

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to check in.

Annaluca - did you decide what to do re 3dt or 5dt? I've been thinking of you and hope things are ok.

My 3 day update was that 2 are doing well and 6 are a bit slow but might catch up. I know they don't usually though so I will literally find out tomorrow morning if / what we have to transfer when I get to the clinic.

Sending love to all of you

Today is 5dp5dt for me. This is when it starts getting really hard not to test, but I am seriously terrified of seeing that negative result. I am not feeling very positive. I have been trying not to symptom spot, but it is hard not to, and my Fitbit says my resting heart rate has gone down a bit (from 76 on Tuesday to 74 now.) That happened last time too (BFN) but Tuesday was also too early for HCG to be effecting it anyway, so I am trying not to let that discourage me. I have breast tenderness and some dry mouth/ excessive thirst......stop symptom spotting!!!
Anyway, I heard Wednesday that they didn't have anything to freeze. My insurance only covers 3 rounds and this is our second. We have just the one frozen from the last fresh round.
Feeling kind of discouraged. Wishing you all the best!

Hi ladies. I had 2-8 cell grade 1 and 1-6cell grade 1. This is exactly what we had last time at day 3 (plus one a little slower that ended up not making it to freeze) so we chose to transfer one yesterday. I took it pretty easy, relaxing on the couch as much as possible. Will work from home today. Feeling good about the decision to transfer (finally- boy was that stressful) but am always nervous that I'll do something too strenuous (e.g. Lifting) or my daughter will accidentally hit me in just the right spot (both of these things happened) and make this not work. I know that's unlikely but i can always find something to worry about. :)

Me2- yay for at least two good ones! I think it depends on how much slower the others are. I definitely think they could catch up, at least a few of them. I had two slower than my best last time -as noted above- and one made to freeze. Wishing you the very best of luck!

EmWaz - Symtom spotting is not only stressful, but in my experience, completely useless. I was pregnant with twins and had NONE of the "typical" symptoms whatsoever in the tww - and hardly throughout my whole first semester. I was tired the couple days before my beta and tired throughout my first trimester, but that was literally it. On the other hand, I can't even tell you how many times I thought I might be pregnant due to symptoms, only to be disappointed. Now, of course that won't stop you (or even me) from doing it, but just know in the back of your mind that it really is futile and means next to nothing. Keep the faith! I know it is so hard. Remind me when is your beta?

I am sorry that they didn't have anything to freeze. If things don't work out, then I'm sure you will have a discussion with your RE and see what can be done differently next time. In the meantime, focus on your current cycle and try to stay positive. I've been reading IVF affirmations, which I hope will help keep my spirits up. Good luck!!!

Hey Ladies!!
Me2- Don't give up hope, a lot can happen in a couple days! Our frostie we are cooking right now grew by 3 in 24 hours before transfer (so anything can happen) Will be thinking of you... Baby dust Baby dust :D

Anna- Congrats on the transfer, good luck, wishing all the best to you this round!! Grow baby grow!

EmW - Don't overthink things ( I know easier said than done) and I am chucking as I say this because I am NOT doing well myself! I have had some cramping and the first thing that popped into my head was "did this happen the last two cycles around this time". You've got this, 7 days to go!!

I am currently 7dp 5dt- some cramping, breasts have changed a bit, and I am exhausted (but I know the progesterone and estrace can cause all these symptoms so as anna said useless to try and even figure it out. I am trying hard not to think/worry this time. I am praying every night and just doing my best to stay positive and eating lots of pineapple lol

The struggle is REAL. Things I have freaked out about in the last 8 hours: Did I strain when I was wrestling with my daughter getting clothes on/off; Is crouching over my computer bad; Am I moving too much/too little; Oh, crap! I have my laptop on my stomach - is it too hot?!??!! The last one had me in a real panic. How will I ever make it another 10 days?
