Welcome Mama-in-cahoots!
So glad to have you. I've never had an endo scratch, but it doesn't sound fun! I hope you're feeling better. In looking at your signature, I'm wondering, did your Thrombo/MTHFR diagnosis mean that they can put you on preventative meds to hopefully avoid Miscarriage? I had a friend with a history of miscarriages who had the same thing. Regardless, fingers crossed for an excellent ER with lots of good eggies!!

Hi Littlebitty and thanks for the welcome. I'm excited to join you all on this journey.

I'm feeling much better thanks. The Endo scratch is supposed to help with implantation, but first we need strong embies for that.. so let's see!
As for the MTHFR gene, I will take Heparin daily from ER onwards. I tried it already in my Jan IUI cycle and it's a right stinger of an injection.

You must be quite excited for the 16th! I'm also hoping to transfer at least two but need to see how many we have.

Let's hope third time is the charm for us both :D

My mother takes twice daily heparin too.

Good luck on your ER...I always produce a lot of eggs, they tell me they are good quality, and then around day 4 I lose a bunch, and so far we've only had 6 day blastocysts...2 my first retrieval (with 24 eggs collected) and 4 the second retrieval (with 23 collected) So, embryos aren't my strong suit I guess!

I'm VERY excited about transfer day...My doc is pretty highly against transferring 2 embryos, but since this is my third transfer and we haven't brought home a baby yet, I guess the recommended standard # opens up to 1-2 embryos instead of just 1. So, we'll try 2 this time...although I wanted to try two the last transfer and my doc scared the pants off of me, telling me why I didn't want to transfer 2. She is ok with 2 this time because of the national standards. Also my mother has a nasty brain tumor, and I really just want her to meet a grand baby since it's something we've always talked about.

So, as far as you know, will you plan to have a fresh transfer after your ER?

How is everyone else doing?

Littlebitty - im really sorry to read about your mum and can understand you wanting her to meet a grandchild :hb:

Which country are you in? Just curious on your national standard...

Producing eggs seems to be a problem for me too. The first time I didn't respond well as I only produced 10, 8 mature and 6 fertilised.. transferred two on day 3 and the other 4 died on thawing..
Second time they upped my dose and I produced 16 but that round also failed. This is my first long protocol so I'm very curious as to how I will respond!

Yes, I'm hoping to do a fresh transfer but I don't know yet if I'll do a 3 or 5 day transfer, it all depends on how many good embryos we have.

I'm in the US. My doctor is waaaaay more by the book on the national guidelines than any other I've met. This is what she goes by:

https://www.asrm.org/uploadedFiles/ASRM ... mbryos.pdf

And thank you for your condolences about my mom. She's a fighter...she already beat an aggressive case of breast cancer, but the brain tumor she is now fighting is just awful...she is doing a great job fighting it and has an incredible attitude, but the survival rate is basically 0%. I love her so much...I can't imagine raising my kids without her, or having my kids grow up without her...so the sooner the better!

With any luck the long protocol will create a bunch of beautiful eggs for you!!!

Hello ladies!
I've officially started my first ever FET cycle. It's CD1 and I just went to my RE to get all the meds. Looks like I'll be put first on Estradiol (Progynova) for the whole cycle, then from CD15 onwards Progesterone (Utrogestan) and from CD16 Crinone.
I gotta say I'm a bit surprised there's gonna be that many meds.
How about you ladies? What will you be taking this cycle?

Welcome HOPE! You and JohnnysWifey may be quite close to being cycle buddies this cycle!

Your med protocol is similar to mine. I'm currently on Estradiol, then a few days before transfer I'll start progesterone...although I'll be doing Progesterone in oil shots, and I'll stay on PIO and Estradiol through 10 weeks of pregnancy if all goes to plan! I've never taken crinone, but lots of ladies on here have. I know for me, the PIO doesn't really bother me too much, but Estradiol makes me sleepy! Aside from that I maybe feel *slightly* more hormonal than usual on these meds, but overall it's not as bad as I was led to believe originally.
Looking at your signature, and I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope this round of IVF is the rainbow you're looking for : )

Hey Ladies!

I am jumping back in after being on a hiatus after my retrieval in November. I ended up having to do a freeze all due to risk of OHSS and then I had some insurance issues but I will be back at it and hopefully doing my FET in March. AF should be here within the next few days to get started. My RE was on maternity leave when I signed my FET consent forms and the new doc I met with changed my whole treatment plan which makes me a little nervous. He wants to monitor me a little more often and go by my body's natural cycle meaning I will not be using estradiol only progesterone gel. MY RE is back so I will have to touch base with her on this! We have 4 frozen embies and will transfer 1 at a time. I hope everyone is moving forward and and smooth sailing through the many obstacles this process throws in our way!
Me 28
DH 38- varying count and motility
TTC 2 years
6/16 IUI #1 50 mg clomid BFN
7/16 IUI #2 100 mg clomid cancelled
8/16 IUI #3 100 mg clomid BFN

October 2016 IVF-ICSI #1
11/7- 26 eggs retrieved
11/12- 4 blastocysts frozen
Transfer cancelled OHSS risk

FET scheduled for 3/26!

Transferred a 3AA blast on 3/26 :D

Hi ladies! I would love to join this group.

I am currently in the middle of my first IVF cycle. I just had retrieval on Saturday- 10 eggs, 9 fertilized, and 8 ongoing embryos. I will find out by next week which embryos made it to freeze and then we will do PGD/PGS testing.

I am waiting for my period to start the next part. I will be on estrace, then PIO and medrol about the week before transfer.

Wish you guys all so much luck!

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming : -)

@LittleBittySmitty: thanks so much for your very kind words. Yeah, if this would end up being our very long awaited rainbow baby, that would be amazing. IVF (and especially all the hormones) have been less shocking for me than I thought it would be, even though I ended up having a moderate case of OHSS that made me feel pretty bad for a while. Do you already know when you'll have your transfer?

@Doodlemae: I feel you - I also ended up with OHSS and it was not fun...at all! We will, just like you, also only transfer 1 at a time. Do I understand correctly that this is your first IVF/FET?

@Blessed10: you gotta keep us updated on your final numbers! These 5 days must've been the hardest wait of my life! Do they give you daily updates?

@JohnnysWifey: first of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I just saw it in your signature. How are you feeling now? You seem to be on a very long protocol. It's my first time for IVF and I didn't read up too much about FETs yet, but I'm surprised to see that there's a protocol with BCP and Lupron. Is there a special reason why they are doing that?

@Frozen1xx: when will your approx. transfer date be?

Question to all: I'll be taking Estradiol (Progynova) from CD2 onwards, on CD15 I start with progesterone (oral) and then from CD16 onwards I'll be additionally taking Crinone. FET is scheduled for CD20. Will the estradiol prevent ovulation? Is there a risk that there could still be sudden ovulation and then the cycle would be useless? Would really appreciate your insights! Thanks so much in advance!
