Donor egg collection?

Postby CelineM » Sat Jul 29, 2017 6:06 am

Hi,
I was just wondering...Does anybody know how many eggs can be collected from an egg donor after stimulation?
I've been told it is possible to get about 15 eggs per cycle. What is the average amount?
And what is the best age for a donor to donate her eggs? 20s?
Thanks :)

The clinic we have been to in Spain guarantees 8 eggs minimum from their donors. Any less and I think you get a part refund on the cost. They say that they don't like to over stimulate the donor as they would rather good quality eggs over quantity. This may differ between clinics obviously. Hope this helps!

Like a previous poster said,it depends on the clinic, doctors will try a more gentle protocol for the donors and some clinics will either guarantee a specific # of eggs or embryos .

No specific answer. Numbers vary from clinic to clinic. In ours they aren't focused on eggs retrieved from the donor. BUT they guarantee 3 healthy high class embryos for embryo transfer procedure. I believe that's the main point - considering quality higher than quantity. Also donors are young ladies aged from 18 to 25 yo. I guess they can make high numbers. Good luck!

Upon the arrival of the egg gathering, the male accomplice must give a sperm test. The semen ought to be accumulated following a three to four-day restraint from a sexual act. Masturbation is the favored technique for gathering at the facility. Your conditions will be looked into earlier, and a proposal will be made.
After the accumulation is finished, the example is sent to the lab where it is set up for IVF. The spermatozoa are segregated from different components in the semen and initiated so as to prepare the developing oocytes.
