First time IVF-advice and luck!

Postby babydaffodils » Thu May 24, 2018 4:46 pm

Hello everyone,
Finding the courage today to be part of this great community. I am starting my day 1 of stimulation for IVF today and could use all the advise about the do's and dont's and all the luck!

My back story--I am 36 yrs old, have been happily married for 6.5 years now. I realized after marriage that I have vaginismus as I experienced painful sex so went to see a doctor. This was followed by a strange incident of seeing a famous male doctor who was later convicted of recording his patients during visits. He was found guilty and in fact committed suicide once the police found the tape. I don't know if he ever recorded me but this really affected me a lot and delayed the process of me healing. After a break, I went to a female doctor (and only females since the incident) and I underwent physiotherapy for 6 months. My husband has been increadibily supportive during this whole process.

Fast forward we have been trying to conceive for 1.5 years, we tried 3 rounds of clomid, 3 rounds of IUI and are finally ready for IVF!

I was on Lupron for 10 days and got my period. I went for my baseline which shows I have 10 antral follicle counts and my doctor wants me to start the follistin today. Keeping fingers crossed to have enough eggs as I think it seems low. Would love to hear any advise and similar stories if this is a low number?

Thanks for listening and all the support!

Would also love to hear up your progress soon. Good luck

Staying positive is good advice, it has been difficult but it helps hearing it and pushes me towards positivity. I will definitely keep you posted. Thank you!

Here is my update everyone--

Today is day 10 of stim and is going to be the trigger day, so my egg retrieval will on on June 4th!
So far, I have about 10 follicles and the biggest ones are 18-19 mm and others are around 15 mm. My estrogen level is around 2000. Hoping everything goes well on Monday and bracing for the injection tonight!

I will keep you posted next week on how everything goes..

They’re planning on my ER mid week, but I have to wait 6-8 weeks for the transfer, my estrogen is over 5000 as of today. Lead follicle is around 18mm but I have a bunch of little ones so they want to give it a couple more days

Good luck, baby. May this round work for you.

I realise, if all had gone well, you might already have had your ER and fertilisation. Still
I wanted to say that don't worry about the count. What matters is the quality of eggs / embryos, no #. Hope you have some great embies growing at the moment.

Best wishes
TTC#1 since Feb 2016

DH: 32, 4 SAs. varies between normal to MFI

IUI #3 Dec'17 BFN... moving on to IVF in 2018
IVF #1 - ER (16 follies,14 eggs, 7 mature, 3 fertilised), 3d transfer of 3 embies (only 1x 8 cell, 2x 4 cell), no frosties, BFN
Lap Mar'18 - Dx mild endo

Hey, best of luck for your IVF. I hope everything goes smoothly. A lot of women opt for acupuncture during their IVF check with your doctors if that will be beneficial. One of the things that will really help the procedure is you eating healthily. It is really important to eat food that consists of the right nutrients. Other than that I used to do yoga to release by stress. Best of luck! Do keep us posted.
-Low AMH and High FSH
-Poor Ovarian Reserve
-5 IUIs (failed)
-1 IVF (failed)
Life is a total mess
