3 failed cycles-advice please!

Postby emma_r68 » Wed Jun 20, 2018 10:18 am

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here so I’ll start with a brief bit of background. I am 32, fit and healthy and my OH (other half) is the same age and also fit and healthy. I found out around 3 years ago, after trying to conceive for nearly 2 years, that both my Fallopian tubes were blocked. I had a laparoscopic removal of them both and was referred for IVF. So far I have had one fresh cycle and 2 frozen. From my fresh cycle I had 30 follicles (I had mild OHSS), 19 eggs, 13 fertilised and 4 got to 5 day blastocysts stage. We transferred one hatching blastocyst and froze the other 3. That cycle obviously didn’t work, so I went on to do a frozen embryo transfer (buserelin and progynova with cyclogest pessaries)- I did get a very very faint line on a test but this quickly went to negative so they assume I had a chemical pregnancy, but obviously I’m not 100% sure about that. I have just had another frozen embryo transfer where I had the same buserelin and progynova but instead of the cyclogest I had Lubion injections twice a day, as I had spotting before testing in both of the previous cycles. When they thawed the first embryo it was viable but did not re-expand, so we gave them permission to thaw the last embryo we had frozen. This thawed well and re-expanded back to the stage it had been at prior to freezing, and we ended up transferring both. I have just had a negative test.

I am obviously really struggling right now as on paper there should not be a reason why this hasn’t worked. All my embryos, except the one that didn’t re-expand, have been amazing quality and my lining has been over 10mm each time. I don’t smoke and have tried to follow everything I am meant to. We are going to go for another cycle in a few months but I am looking into any tests etc I can have that may shed some light on why this isn’t working. I have looked into ERA testing and I think I will ask my clinic about that. I know about immune testing too, but I am unsure if this is worth paying for as I don’t have any health problems at the moment? If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated, as I don’t know how much more failures I can take. Oh and I am at the Victoria wing at Woking Nuffield.

Im sorry to hear about your failed cycles.Borh immunes tests and teh ERA tests are worth doing, especially teh nk cells,if those are high ur body might be fighting the embryos.
For your next cycle you could add baby aspirin and a low dosage of prednisone and maybe go for a natural cycle and not a controlled one, meaning letting your body ovulate and transfer after.
Good luck!

I am really sorry to hear this. I mean this is devastating. Did you ask the reason? I mean is because of the frozen embryo? Or maybe your body is not ready for a pregnancy. It could be anything. So I suggest you ask this question. Only then can you decide on the future strategy.

Hi! I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Either way, you have 2 variables that you can work with--The length of time taking the same dose of progesterone. Or the daily dose of progesterone. I did the ERA test with my 2nd fresh cycle. It was not cheap. My test came back pre-receptive 24 hours. I did not repeat the test. My RE adjusted my progesterone and transfer time. Though it made no difference. I was again unsuccessful. My new RE did not recommend ERA testing. She felt it was a waste of time. I suppose every RE has his own ideas on the question.
How are the things going now, hun? You definitely have to investigate the reason why embies don't implant. Furthermore this is clinic's responsibility to explain things. I'm hoping you'll get more answers soon. And some good recommendations over your next steps. All the best of luck :hugs:

I am so sorry to know about this. Handle the situation wisely and calmly. I really appreciate you for all this. Don't lose hope its a big thing.IVF is a really great method. I want to tell you guys there are some places like Lotus clinic. That use the people for their own good. I am also infertile. Now thought of choosing IVF. But I am really sad they even not replying. I am really stressed out. Lotus, It has got the worst communication service ever. Beware of these clinics guys. But I am not losing hope. We just have to handle the situation calmly. Better things are coming. Pray for me, dear. All the best for the future ahead. I wish you the best of luck in the future. Take care. Don't take the stress. Go for the checkup. Try again! Stay positive.

Hi everyone, Good to see all. Thanks for sharing all the comments and reviews about things. Its good to share your experience with others so that it can help others for the next time. My sis was having the problem in conceiving the baby and after having a lot of treatments when her doctor said that she is infertile. Still, remember how much she was upset that time. But she is trying for the surrogacy soon. I heard about an event in london but i don't know exactly when are they coming here as we are in Liverpool and i wanted to know more about all these processes for my sis and that event is gonna held for telling all this. Please do let me know if anyone knows about it and keep sharing your reviews so that we may get to know more about the things. regards.

Hey, how are you doing now? I hope your situation gets sorted out. I really don't know what advice to give. I'm going through PCOS myself. And it's been really hard. But I've been able to cope with it. As long as you prepare for the worst. You don't wanna get caught off guard. It really messes you up. Recently I've been looking into IVF and surrogacy. If IVF fails, I'll go for surrogacy. It can't be the same thing. But at least I'll enjoy motherhood. It's not so bad. Pain is self-inflicted. Just stay strong.

Dear Emma, I am very sorry to hear about your problem. Dear, you are very young. And a newbie in the realm of infertility. 3 years are not much time. You still have chances to conceive. You asked for advice. Dear my advice to you is to attend an event. An event is to be organized very soon. Biotexcom is organizing this event Go and attend that event. You will get Answers to all your questions there. This delegation consists of a team of highly qualified doctors, Infertility specialist, and Anastasia. You have a pleasant opportunity to sign a contract with them too. You should attend this event. If you want your next cycle to run smoothly. Proper knowledge is the key to success.

Hello Emma. how are you doing? 3 failed IVF's, you suffered to much. I can feel your pain. You must not lose hope. If you want to be a mother stay strong. I recommend you surrogacy. Surrogacy is a miracle. The process is simple. It will surely work for you. But Please don't contact L***s clinic for surrogacy. They are scam. I am also an infertile. I contacted them after reading too many positive reviews. They told us to visit the clinic for info. When we visited them the clinic was really in bad shape. The staff is rude and was busy in their own stuff. We waited for 3 hours to see a doctor. Doctor was also untrained. They were failed to satisfy us. I think they are doing fake promotion. Please beware.

I am very sad to hear this news. You are a very strong lady. You bare all this with great patience. I want to share the story of my friend with you. Before her marriage, she was quite well. We never knew she has an internal issue. She married 5 years back. after her marriage, she focused to make a career rather than born a child. After some years they tried to have a child. Suddenly they knew they are facing infertility issue. Her doctor recommended her for IVF. She was very scared at the start. But, later she knew all the knowledge about it. She tried almost 4 times through IVF. And finally, she succeeded to have a baby. So, you should not lose so early. There is an event in near future you can also join it for more information. Sometimes it happens with us. Things take time.

Hey, hope you are doing well. I am really sorry for your failed attempts. You should consult a good clinic. Choosing the right procedure doesn't only work. but choosing the right clinic is also essential for success. i am these days visiting a clinic for my sister's IVF process. It is in ukraine. Biotexcom clinic has higher success rate. The procedures here are so reliable and reasonable. And i have seen very rare failed cases here. You must try this clinic. My sister had two attempts failed as well. Then someone suggested us this clinic. and trust me this is one of the best clinic i ever came across. Soon my sister is going to start her IVF here. We all are so satisfied with the clinic. In fact this clinic is going to arrange an event soon for infertile people. You must visit the clinic first. All the doctors along with head will be there at event. You could meet them. I am sure you will never regret visiting them.

Hi there. Sad to read your story. Well i want to share something. The clinic which I chose for my surrogacy plan. It is The BioTexCom. I was so much glad when I experienced these guys. Their rates are affordable and their staff is highly qualified. Now they are going to The UK. If you belong to The UK I suggest you go to their location and get their help. They will help you in all senses. We will be able to conceive or you will be a mother through surrogacy. Both options are there for you. Don't be disappointed. Stay positive. Keep searching for the best options for you. But i will suggest you to attend that event. This will means a lot for you. I hope you will soon get the solution to your problem.
